Wonderful Cookbook,
By
This review is from: Good Cookin' from the Heart of Virginia (Plastic Comb)
My wife got this book as a gift in 1986. We have followed a number of recipes from it over the years, and each one has been very good. My favorites are the lentil soup and Brunswick stew.My father-in-law (he is 80 and a Lynchburg, VA native) says it is the best Brunswick stew he has ever had. The book is lavishly filled with Quenna Stoval's beautiful paintings, so it is an art treasure as well. Divided up into easy to locate sections, these are real recipes contributed by Virginians and some are old family recipes going back generations. A very fine cookbook, and one we regularly turn to.
