This is a cookbook I will use!,

I like the variety of recipes in this cookbook. It is well put together, the ingridents are readily available and the recipes are easy to follow. I have tried the meat pies, the rosemary kabobs and the pot stickers. I plan to try Great-grandpa's Sauerkraut next - with pork, sausage on a polenta base, it sounds yummy!! I like cookbooks that have good pictures of the dish and information about each presentation. This cookbook has it all! I can heartily recommend this bookbook to the novice cook as well as the more experienced chef.

Cooking Big Game is an excellent compilation of easy to make and wonderful tasting recipes. My husband hunts all types of big game and I love the variety of recipes for each and every one of them!! I have made the Shepherd's Pie, Candy Meat and Spicy Spaghetti and Meatballs! All are quick to make, with ingredients that are easy to find, and taste fantastic! I plan on trying many more of the recipes and definitely recommend this cookbook. I own almost all of Scott and Tiffany Haugen's cookbooks and love them all!

Beautifully illustrated on every page with full-color photography showcasing the finished dish, "Cooking Big Game" is the collaborative effort of the husband and wife team of Scott and Tiffany Haugen. Each superbly presented recipe is complete with a comprehensive list of ingredients and clearly organized step-by-step instructions. Of special note are the little descriptive vignettes for each dish giving some background or context to the proffered recipe. There are 'kitchen cook' friendly recipes for dishes involving venison, wild pig, and bear. With a spiral-bound binding that allows for the pages to lay out flat on a kitchen counter or table, "Cooking Big Game" will prove to be a wonderful and unique addition to any personal or professional cookbook collection. Also very highly recommended by Scott Haugen are his previous cookbooks (three by himself and three with his wife) from Frank Amato Publications: "Plank Cooking"; "Cooking Salmon & Steelhead"; "Smoking Salmon & Steelhead ;"Summer Steelhead"; "Recreational Dungeness Crabbing"; and "Egg Cures: Proven Recipes & Techniques".
