This review is from: Cooking from the Cupboard: Meals in Minutes from Your Pantry (Hardcover)
For a family or even a smaller household, this little book has been a gem. The boyfriend and I have been experimenting for some time with cooking to lighten up our diets, cut down food costs, and eat a more varied bit of cuisine, and this book has been one of our favorites. The recepies are easy to cut down for the most part due to the "1 can of this that or the other" measurement, cutting a can in half is a lot easier than cutting out 2/3 cup of "fresh blah blah blah". Most of the recepies are quick and easy, though finding canned versions of some things was difficult, the fresh versions substituted just fine.
As a couple with a hectic schedule and busy lives, quick, flavorful recepies from canned and boxed ingredients appealed to us greatly, and has helped us with recepie creation of our own. All in all, definitely worth the money, though for those used to spending hours in the kitchen perfecting meals with fresh ingredients, it may come up short to expectations. We enjoyed it, and I believe you will too. I highly recommend it for anyone who works all the time or has a busy lifestyle but still wants to cook. Moneysaver too! |
