5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic book on the various uses of herbs in cooking! September 27, 2012

Who would have known you could put nutmeg into mashed potatoes and make them taste great? Who would have known all the common spices that go into making curry powder? Bobbi Chukran does. I also was reminded of making my kitchen fragrant by boiling herbs or orange peel on the stove. Lots of tips here. Great little book at a low price! 4.0 out of 5 stars Short and sweet. July 12, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
While this collection of tips and information is quite short, I really got quite a bit of solid info from it.

What Ms. Chukran offers is quite usable and even engaging.

I would have welcomed a bit more details, but I am greedy that way. Not used to paying this much for something so short, but I feel like it is definitely worth the investment, especially if you like to tinker around with food.

I say go for it!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of great information and advice! September 27, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
I highly recommend this book to anyone who uses herbs and spices. I am in the fortunate position to have access to some fresh herbs and spices at the moment - however I'm only just learning how to use them! This book has given me lots of inspiration and I can see myself coming back to it again and again as a reference for my cooking as there are so many great ideas in it!

More About the Author

Bobbi A. Chukran (also writing as B.A. Neal) loves writing about quirky, fun characters and feels that books should, first of all, be entertaining.

Bobbi is a native Texan born in Ft. Worth, raised in Grapevine, educated in Austin and now rooted in Taylor. Bobbi has been writing since she was very young, starting with robot plays and high-seas adventures. She turned to art in college and wrote books afterwards on crafts and gardening under the name "Bobbi A. McRae". Bobbi writes mysterious fiction, stage plays and a little bit of non-fiction. Bobbi's quirky characters are always reader favorites.

Bobbi's first Kindle book (a play script), The Journal of Mina Harker, was published in October 2011. Her first middle grade novel, PRINCESS PRIMROSE and the CURSE OF THE BIG SLEEP is a fractured mash-up spoof of four fairy tales, detective style. Bobbi is also the author of the "Nameless, Texas" short story mystery series, a set of cozy stories featuring a mess of rowdy characters.

Her first Kindle format full-length historical 1880s Texas mystery novel/western romance, LONE STAR DEATH, was published in June 2012 under the pseudonym "B.A. Neal" and is available here on Amazon in e-book and paperback.
