Great Cooking Ideas and Light!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
I've subscribed to Cooking Light and it's predecessers since the 70's - I love to cook and try new recipes. This book not only contains the staffs favorites, but many of my own - and finding them is alot easier than going through years of old magazines. The only draw back I can think of is the lack of pictures - for those who need them to be inspired. Don't let that stop you, the recipes are wonderful - give it a try!

An essential book in my kitchen,
By Carol Peterson Hennekens (Colorado Springs, CO United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
I buy the Cooking Light Annual Recipe collections religiously and each volume since 1997 occupies an easily accessible shelf in my kitchen. I still enjoy the magazine but these books are great for those nights when you want to do something different with the chicken (or whatever). After four months, I doubt this will be my most used volume. CL has gotten a bit fancier each year and I still turn to earlier volumes when I want a light version of everyday fare. What's really missing from this book (or their internet site) is a five star index. The book includes indexes for name, main ingredients and order of appearance. My wish -- an index by cuisine since I love Asian food. Bottom line: Not necessarily a book for dieters but a good resource for people seeking to eat and live in a healthy manner.

Great tasting and low fat!,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
This compilation of Cooking Light Magazine's annual recipes is a wonderful resource of how to cook delicious low fat foods. I have brought several recipes made from this cookbook to potluck dinners and had rave reviews from all the guests (especially the spinach artichoke dip). However, the only flaw to this book is it is organized by month of issue instead of types of dishes (appetizer, dessert, main course, etc). In spite of this, I still love this cookbook and think it makes a wonderful gift!

Some real gems in here!,
By "jgmmuir100" (Manchester, NH USA) - See all my reviews

I too subscribe to this wonderful magazine, and decided to try a year-end compendium of all of the recipes...I was a bit put off by the thin paper of the book and the lack of pictures, but the recipes are outstanding and the pages are packed with great ideas. I've really wowed my family and friends with several of the recipes, and recommend the Grilled Pork with Peach Salsa and Field Green Citrus Salad recipes...great for the summer!

Cooking Light never lets me down,
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
Cooking Light is the top cooking magazine in this country and this cookbook is a shining example of the reason why. You could never guess that these recipes where light and healthy. I read the magazine and having all the recipes for the year in one good spot is great and space saving...particularly in the shoebox I live in:-). Highly recommend all the books!

Annual Recipes - 2001 Cooking Light,
By A Customer
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
The 2001 edition contains more wonderful low calorie, low fat recipes including new ones to experiment with on the weekend and some quick, easy recipes for during the week. Most of the ingredients are easy to find and affordable. My only complaint is that the chapters of the book are organized by month, not by course. It helps for great hints of something new during certain months (especially during the summer when you want something lighter), but it also makes it challenging to find something in particular. I believe there's an index in the back that helps.

Love Cooking Light!,
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
I love the Cooking Light Annual Recipes books. I have 2001-2008. Most of the dinners I cook are a Cooking Light recipe. When I'm making our weekly menu, I search for recipes on the Cooking Light website and note the year and month they were originally published. Then when it's time to make the dish, I pull out the corresponding Annual Recipe book. I don't have to hassle with printing the recipe out, etc. Love it!

Eating Healthy... And Loving It!,
By Jill Fariss (Acton, CA United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cooking Light Annual Recipes (Hardcover)
I've been a subscriber to Cooking Light magazine for about 5 years now. Every month I practically clip out every recipe there is. Now I don't have to! My husband and I enjoy eating fine food and now we can without all the guilt! The only drawback that I saw in the book was its arrangement. It is a little different than what I'm used to. Other than that, it's been fabulous! I'd highly recommend it.
