Awesome recipes!,
By BGuhl (Austin, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cooking Light: Light and Easy Cookbook: 330 Quick Healthy Recipes (Paperback)
The recipes are easy and delicious. It has quick and "Super-Quick" recipes. Color photos are provided for many of the dishes, and the layout of the entire book is terrific. Nutritional info and Diabetic food exchanges are provided for every recipe. My only critiques are: while the recipes are easy many have a long list of ingredients yet the prep time for most recipes is 25 min. or less. Seeing a list of 17 ingredients is daunting but knowing the prep time is only 17 min. and cooking time is 10 helps assure you that dinner will be ready fast. Second critique: a few recipes call for processed food ingredients (cake mixes, white flour, frozen pizza dough), and some desserts use a lot of sugar--not as healthy as some of us might like. But, having said that, MOST ALL of the recipes are truly great and healthy! Nice addition to your healthy recipe collection.

Somewhat odd recipies,
By Sean (Colorado) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Cooking Light: Light and Easy Cookbook: 330 Quick Healthy Recipes (Paperback)
I bought this cookbook with high hopes. So far those hopes have been somewhat dashed. The first recipe I made was for Chili. The recipe calls for cloves and lemon juice. It sounds odd and when I made it it tasted odd. The next recipe I made was the crab cakes. This recipe involves water chestnuts and sesame oil. Also a large departure from a traditional crab cake. This recipe was quite good but I would love to see more traditional variations on these recipes as well. Don't buy this book without taking a close look at the recipes first.

I bought this for my daughter-in-law and she dived into it the minute she opened the package! I looked at it a little and found it a great book too!
