I have the other two books in the series (Fresh Food Fast and Fresh Food Fast: Weeknight Meals) and I love them. They are my go to cookbooks and a generally cook at least one meal a week from them. Naturally, I purchased Fresh Food Superfast, thinking that it would be just as good as the others but there's only about 5 recipes that even caught my eye. I actually got nauseated as I flipped through the book.

I'm all for trying new foods and flavor combinations. I have no problem mixing fruit with meat with cheese, and other combinations that a more reserved cook might not be into. But there are just way too many wacky combinations for me. Nothing looked appealing. Everything in the book is either way too boring or way too obscure.

I guess what I am trying to say is this:
1.) The recipes in this book do not go from grocery bag to table faster than those in the other series.
2.) The other books are way better.
Therefore, you should buy the other books!

Cooking Light has come out with another fast and simple book. Some of the recipes will be familiar, but there are many in here that are new including more than 100 4 ingredient, 10 minute recipes. There are colour pictures for about half of the recipes. There are usually 2 to a page and then a colour picture.

There are fix it faster tips that are common sense and experienced cooks will already know what this book claims are clever shortcuts; such as buy already peeled and deveined shrimp to save you the time doing this chore. Quick flips explain you can change some of the recipes, for example adding picante sauce to make TexMex. There are ingredient spotlights and a seasonal produce guide, pictures and explanations of time saving tools and gadgets, a nutritional analysis, and a metric equivalent chart.

These are not recipes that are really out of the ordinary, but they do create good meals, simple enough for beginning cooks. There are many parings; main dish and a side. Some of this family favorites have been; horseradish dill salmon, Grecian steaks and braised chicken with saffron and olives, paired with sugared almond basmati rice.
This book would add to a cookbook collection that needs some good quick nice meals.

It's not the worst cook book, but I guess I was expecting a little more natural foods and a little less artificial items. Also at times it felt like a giant advertisement for certain brands of food. Many of the 4 ingredient recipes called for items that required a separate recipe. If you're looking for a nutritious cook book that uses whole foods and provides useful tips this is not it.

I love this cookbook! There are pictures for all of the recipes and some of them have meal sugguestions (i.e. pork schnitzel with slaw or chipotle taco salad with limeade). Plus there is nutritional information for everything, the calorie counts are reasonable and everything is easy and fast to make.

This cookbook is so easy to use. Unlike most that have a fair amount of ingredients and take a bit of time to prepare the first try this one has fewer ingredients and comes out tasting fresh and in less time. I have used it more than any other cookbook.

Great cookbook. I love the fact that there is a nutritional breakdown on every recipe. The recipes are simple enough to make on a weeknight after work yet present and taste like a restraunt meal. Condition was like new.
