Francis Anthony is affectionately known as the "Love Chef," and make no bones about it, Francis loves pasta. Cooking Pasta with Love is a celebration of the subject, and he actually begins by comparing pasta to "love ... love of body ... love of mind ... love of soul ..." With more than 175 recipes, there is a lot of love to go around. From the classic spaghetti and meatballs to more obscure dishes such as fettuccine with New York apples, he covers the world of pasta possibilities. Anthony is perhaps best known as a regular chef on Live with Regis and Kathie Lee, and indeed, many of the recipes showcased on the popular television show are in the book--including his signature dish, Pasta with Love. Divided into sections featuring Vegetables, Meat, Poultry, Seafood, Sauces, and Kids, there are pasta recipes featuring almost any ingredient. The recipes are simple, straightforward, and refreshingly diverse. If you love pasta, you'll have fun cooking it with the "Love Chef."

Anthony appears regularly on Live with Regis & Kathie Lee and apparently has a devoted following. His collection of pasta recipes, however, is nothing special, with familiar dishes like Pasta Carbonara and "signature" dishes like Chili con Carne with Spaghetti (and canned lentil soup and chickpeas) or South Dakota Pasta with Beef (and canned cream corned and potato chips). Buy for demand.

....From Pasta that is! This is a great cookbook from quite a scamp of a chef, Francis Anthony. I have seen him on a morning show several times & decided to get his book. There are over 200 recipes ranging from plain pasta (how can pasta ever be plain?) to more inricate dishes using veal and freshly made linguine.

Our family appreciates the kid section. Fun meatballs and ideas that'll make 'em manga~manga-manga. The Love Chefs approach is simple, direct, easy to follow and sometimes humorous. I like the bright red cover--a real standout of sinfully good eating.
