5.0 out of 5 stars What a find!
This is my newest favorite cookbook! I love to read cookbooks, but only really use a few all-time favorites. This is another! I, like the author, have always believed in "from scratch" cooking, only reluctantly turning to "convenience" foods in preparation. But he's right - the technology HAS gotten better, there are more flavorful easy stuff out...

3.0 out of 5 stars Cooking with Three Ingredients
I purchased this book for my grandson who is going to college and is not a chef.ha I thought this would simplify things for him. I have reviewed it and it seems to have some he would eat.

This is my newest favorite cookbook! I love to read cookbooks, but only really use a few all-time favorites. This is another! I, like the author, have always believed in "from scratch" cooking, only reluctantly turning to "convenience" foods in preparation. But he's right - the technology HAS gotten better, there are more flavorful easy stuff out there, and this book gives great ideas. I've used it almost constantly since I got it a couple of weeks ago, and still reach for it when I'm trying to decide what to fix. Everyone that I've shown it to just can't put it down. Thanks, busycooks@miningco.com for the first review I read of it. Thank you, amazon.com for carrying it.

When I was going to live on my own at college this was one of the gifts that I received. I have found it a valuable companion in the kitchen since then. The recipes are easy, fast, fun, and taste good. I liked this book so much that I now give it out to my friends that are moving out on their own. This is a must have for any bachelor.

5.0 out of 5 stars A gem of a cookbook !!!, December 27, 2001

With probably 400 or so cookbooks in my collection, how could there be room or reason for another one? This is one of my all-time favorites! And one of the reasons has not been mentioned by any of the previous reviewers: Simple ways to use the contents of all of the jars and bottles on the refrigerator door!! The recipes are so simple and delicious. I have given it to friends and family members over and over. Thank you Andrew Schloss. Please reprint this book!!

I absolutely adore this book. I was cooking for my harassed little brother (single father of three) during a visit and he was exhausted all the time from work and kids. This book now makes his life so much easier and much more relaxed (at least every time he makes dinner)! Chef Schloss is the BEST!

I picked this book up on a whim at our local library and have loved it. Now I want to buy it and can't. This book needs to be reprinted so busy people everywhere can use it. We have used this book for several meals and none have gone awry. I want my own copy so I don't feel bad when I spill on it, not that there is that much to spill

Why can't all cookbooks be like this? Simple recipes with an eye on flavor, texture -- and time. I've been saving money and eating much better ever since I got this cookbook

5.0 out of 5 stars The backbone of my cookbook collection!, March 31, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This is a cookbook that I have returned to time and time again. For a quick entrée, side dish or dessert I think it can not be beat. It is a great way to stretch a dollar, the dishes are delicious. And if you splurge on one dish and supplement your dinner with dishes from this book, no one is the wiser that you actually were cooking on a budget
