a gotta have,

Being single and I love to cook, it can be difficult to reduce recipes meant for 4 to 6, or more servings and have the recipe turn out right. This book of recipes provides me a fun way to cook knowing it'll turn out right and tasting like it should. Plus I won't have lots of leftovers! You won't be sorry if you pick this one up.

Perfect for the small quantity chef,
By Midwest Book Review (Oregon, WI USA) - See all my reviews

Not everyone cooks for a family of four or just for themselves."Cooking for Two: Perfect Meals for Pairs" is a collection of recipes meant for those who only cook for themselves and someone close to them. These recipes are tailored to smaller quantities for those cooks who are tired of always having containers full of leftovers. With recipes such as Chunky Chicken pot pies, Vegetable Curry, and Homemade Ricotta Gnocchi, there is no shortage of variety presented in this cookbook. Featuring full color photographs and more, "Cooking for Two" is perfect for the small quantity chef.

There is not one recipe in this book I will use. I was looking for a cookbook with complete menus that are nutritionally balanced and practical with respect to food prepartation during the week. As empty nesters,my husband and I need to downsize our portions to control calories and not throw food away. The menus are incomplete and not nutritionally balanced. The most riduculous indicator that is inb only a "fluff and "puff'" piece is that it wastes a whole chapter on cooking together. Most of the recipes require more work than the recipes I make from my Julia Child's cookbooks. I won't buy cookbooks online anymore if I can't review the index, the table of contents, and some of the recipes.

I got this book b/c I saw it in the newspaper and would like to cook for my significant other. I was hoping there were more option on the course meal. It is divided by appetizer, meal and dessert.
