5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic teen cookbook
Cooking up a storm is a great cook book for kids of all ages. I have 3 kids ages 7, 11 and 16 and each one of them has enjoyed using this book to make some Fab food. Before this book they would get bored if they tried to use a cook book but with the pictures, explanations and real funny captions they were glued to it. Not only that but it has everything you could want to...

2.0 out of 5 stars For VERY YOUNG teens
Very simplistic recipes. I saw Today show feature of tuna with wasabi and thought this book offered more creative recipes. Do not purchase for any child over 13.

I would definitely reccomend it!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Teen Cookbook (and adults too), January 20, 2007
Great cook book. My son enjoys it very much. He is 16 years old. He is a typical jock. Plays football, baseball, basketball, and races moto-x. But, in his spare time he loves to cook. It is a great hit with his friends, especially the girls! He got the cookbook for his birthday in January and has used it several times. We would highly recommend "Cooking Up A Storm!"

Thanks Sam for a well written and easily followed cook book which has added a little spice into my life. I am 77!!! The recipes are so easy to follow and simple to fix. Will I have to wait till you are and old man for you to write a book entitled "Recipes for Old Codgers!"

4.0 out of 5 stars Nice Kids Cookbook, May 31, 2010

We bought this cookbook for our 12 yr old son. Many kids cookbooks are pretty boring and include recipes for things that don't even need a recipe (ie. grilled cheese, peanut butter sandwich). This cookbook has more interesting recipes and the fact that a teenager wrote it is a big plus, too. There are plenty of good photos to illustrate the recipes as well. Finally a cookbook for kids that is actually worth buying!

Sam Stern uses an appealing approach to cooking for teens. I appreciate the fact that he chooses healthy menus and manageable recipes for the events in the teen's life. He makes it possible for the teen to have fun in the kitchen and serve delicious food for him/herself and friends as the result.

I bought this as a gift for my 13-year-old son--we had previewed it before when we checked it out from the library. It has a good variety of both basic and "fancy" recipes, and is written in language which appeals to teenagers. My son has prepared several of the dishes in this book, and they are delicious as well.

I purchased this book for my stepgrandson at Christmas. He's hard to buy for,as he has several grandparents. He does like to cook and is thinking of becoming a chef, so was very pleased with this book. He tells me he's had success with the recipes he's tried so far.

I bought this after my 12 yr old son brought it home from his school library. He has no problem making most of the recipes himself & uses it to cook dinner for us once a week.
