With all due respect to the author, recipes including with pork rinds and heavy cream is not what I expected.

The Lap Band Chronicles thinks...,
This review is from: Cooking For Weight Loss Surgery Patients (Plastic Comb)
I'm not so sure about this one. I read through the recipes and what struck me was the amount of heavy cream, high fat cheeses and, butter were used in the dishes. I also checked out the nutrition information after each dish and I really couldn't find much with a high protein count and/or low calories. Perhaps this book is best suited to bariatric patients who are at least a year out from their surgery and have reached and are able to maintain their weight loss goal. No pictures either, bummer! I give it one lap band. [...]

I heard Dick Stucki talk at a support meeting for bariatric weight loss patients. His insight was helpful and suggestions were helpful. He has walked the walk having lost over 300 bls himself. He is always positive and helpful to those just out of surgery. This cook book was put together to give support to those who are trying to make major changes in their lives after weight loss surgery. He provides high protein great tasting food suggestions for those of us who are tired of eating scrambled eggs and yogurt. These receipts provide alternatives that can make your life more enjoyable when your family has something special to eat. You can sit and enjoy your food with them. This book is very worthwhile as a starting point for a new life style and those seeking to expend their choice of eating alternatives.

How to Cook After Weight Loss Surgery,
By
This review is from: Cooking For Weight Loss Surgery Patients (Plastic Comb)
I haven't actually made any of the receipes in this cookbook yet, but I did look through it and they look wonderful. It is written by a man who has lost a LOT of weight since his weight loss surgery, so I believe he knows what he is talking about. I noticed that many of the ingredients seemed like they were not "diet" foods and that is a good thing. It looked like you could make these dishes for the whole family and eat them yourself - perfect!!! I look forward to making some of these meals, snacks, and deserts.

This cookbook had a lot of recipes, but very few were for "everyday" eating,,,too many ingredients that one does not usually have on hand. I was disappointed in it, to say the least.
