About the Author

Martha Bolton is a full-time comedy writer and the author of 30 books inlcluding I Think, Therefore, I Have a Headache. She was a staff writer for Bob Hope for 15 years and has written for Bill Gaither, Ann Jillian, Phyllis Diller, and many others. Her material has appeared in Reader's Digest, Chicken Soup for the Kid's Soul, and Brio magazine, and she has received two Angel awards and an Emmy nomination. Martha and her husband live in Tennessee.

More About the Author

After writing her first "book" at age 9 (titled, NO FUN BEING YOUNG, about being the youngest in her family), Martha grew up to become the author of 88 books, including her newest, JOSIAH FOR PRESIDENT. She was a staff writer for Bob Hope for fifteen years, and received an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Achievement in Music and Lyrics. She has also written for dozens of comedians and entertainers, including Phyllis Diller, Wayne Newton, Chonda Pierce, and Mark Lowry.

The winner of four Angel Awards, Martha also wrote the scripts for the stage production of JOSIAH FOR PRESIDENT, the Musical; THE CONFESSION Musical; and HALF-STITCHED, the Musical (music by Wally Nason, produced by Dan Posthuma and Mel Riegsecker). These musicals are currently playing at the Blue Gate Theater in Shipshewana, Indiana, the Bird in Hand Family Restaurant and Theater in Bird in Hand, Pennsylvania, and the Carlisle Inn, in Sugar Creek, Ohio. For tickets, performance dates and times, and additional information, go to www.BlueGateMusicals.com

BETHLEHEM OR BUST is a fun and message-driven Christmas musical for children which Martha co-wrote with Andy Cundiff, Darrell Bledsoe, and Ted Wilson. For additional information on this musical, visit www.bethlehemorbust.com

Martha also wrote the book, JESSE and the SUPER SENSORIFIC SEASHORE, A Day in the Life of a Boy with Autism, which was recently named Book of the Year by Creative Child Magazine. Her children's musical, A LAMB'S TALE, written with Dennis Allen, also received a Dove award nomination.

Martha sees the humor in life, and especially in being a baby boomer, as evident in her popular book series for middle-agers (DIDN'T MY SKIN USED TO FIT?, COOKING WITH HOT FLASHES, and soon to be released, THE WHOLE WORLD IS CHANGING AND I'M TOO HOT TO CARE).

Martha Bolton is one of those people who seems to see the humorous side of just about everything.

This book is for all of us who are over 40 and especially for women entering or experiencing menopause. All the physical and mental changes that come with aging can be depressing, but Ms Bolton shows how we can choose to look at the humorous side of it. She encourages the reader to accept and even chuckle at every new wrinkle and sagging body part.

This book is full of holsum, good-natured fun, and clean enough to give to your grandmother. Reading even one chapter a day is sure to help you out of the doldrums and remind you that God meant life to be enjoyed.

I enjoyed this book and hope to find more like it because I never want to outgrow a good laugh.

I stopped at the post office on my way to a book signing two hours away. Instead of the expected bills I found Martha Bolton's new book. All the way to Sarasota I entertained my husband with selections from Cooking With Hot Flashes. What a fun book. As someone who received my official AARP membership this year I enjoyed learning how profitable middle age can be.

Martha is a master storyteller who sees humor in every situation. I loved the short chapters, hysterical lists, great quotes, and everything else about this book. It seems that life is more stressful now that I have reached my middle years. Martha's book is a welcome stress break and an opportunity to laugh. Do yourself a favor and pick up Cooking With Hot Flashes. If nothing else you'll learn to laugh at the inevitable that comes with aging.

This is a great followup to Martha's earlier book on laughing your way through middle age, "Didn't My Skin Used to Fit?" I laughed until I cried...and when I went to get a tissue, I couldn't remember why I was crying. If you suffer from memory loss or flappy arms, you'll love this book.

This was a bit like the " Chicken Soup" books. A lot of short quick reads we can relate to and can't help but to smile (or even laugh out loud) at. If we can't laugh at ourselves and the little things life throws at us, why bother waking up?

As usual, Martha Bolton offers humor and fun with a message! Either I was smiling, laughing out loud or nodding in agreement about her humorous take on getting older. Her words encouraged me to know I'm not alone and to grow older with grace and joy!

Good stuff I think the clever way that the humor is laced throughout the book helps to keep the interest.
