What a great recording of the Dizzy Gillespie big band from 1957. More swing than bop, the band was really tight and must have been something to see live. Luckily we have these (and other) recordings to remind us what a force Dizzy was during that period.The sound quality is extremely good for a live recording. No personel listing,which is too bad, but there is a brief essay on the band and their 2 year existance. If you're a fan of Dizzy or swing/bop music, you'll want this recording.
