If you like Christmas and you like the blues, then you'll LOVE this album.
I have something like a hundred Christmas albums (it's a hobby) and this one is right at the top of the pile.
It's great. Certainly one of the coolest Christmas albums ever.

This disc and it`s tracks compare closely to that first all day snowfall with big flakes, the kind you rush outside to try and catch with your tongue. Mr. Brown crafts Christmas Yuletides in the cool smooth blues style, timeless and classy.After 5o years of playing, his music flows freely between jazz,blues,and r&b with honesty and orignality that sets mastercraftsmen apart. Take the biggest flake " A Song For Christmas" at 6:15 in length the track was not intended for any radio airplay, rather as a testimonial from artist to listener tout`n the best virtues of the season.So when ya get a case of the blahs, pour youself a hot toddy, play this disc, and let Charles melt the worries away.Merrily Mix ~ 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,and 11 ~ no bahhumbugs here. I am a huge fan of Christmas Jazz and Blues. This is a standout recording by a great artist. His thoughtful phrasing and warm voice and a great way to get into the holiday spirit. One of my favorite holiday albums!

If you like soulful and swinging blues you'll dig this mostly original recordings holiday disc. Charles Brown has such a heartfelt vocal style and his piano playing puts you in a great mood. I recommend this title to any music lover looking for more than the same old holiday tunes.

I heard this CD while I was shopping in a store. I have been looking all over for it because I thought it was wonderful. I'm giving it to my best friend for Christmas. I love rhythm and blues and found this music to be outrageous!

As a collector of Christmas and Holiday CDs I never fully appreciated or understood the "Christmas Blues" theme UNTIL listening to this album. Blues does not mean depressing and Brown makes that clear. These cool, smooth yuletide treats will certainly help get you into the spirit of the season in the most relaxing way.

Brown is responsible for some of our most cherished and classic Christmas blues with his songs being covered from Bon Jovi to BB King. Some may even find his originals to be better than the versions made popular by the mainstream contemporary artists!

I have hundreds of Christmas and Holiday CDs, but this CD remains on heavy rotation during the season. If you want to get to the root of the Christmas Blues, I highly recommend this smooth, relaxing collection of Christmas grooves.

I first discovered Charles Brown on Alligator's great Christmas collect. The track that is on that collection 'Merry Christmas Baby' is also the first track and the finest on this album as well. This is by no means a one or two hit wonder. This whole CD is fanastic! Charles Brown has a distinc vocal style, which is covered in a mellow smokey blues sound. His piano playing is sparse, but excellent and his backing band is very capable. Charles guitarist also plays a very sparse style as well leaving plenty of room for Charles great vocals. He sings like no other and willbring you in instantly. Listing to this album makes you want to spike the egg nog and start a fire in the fireplace. If you like the blue and\or like great Christmas music buy this album. You will not be disappointed.
