1.0 out of 5 stars It's just not Legos.
Let me begin by saying that I did not buy this toy from Amazon, but it really doesn't matter about that.

On the surface, this looks like a really nice building toy, some combination of classic k'nex and building blocks similar to the lego style. However, my kids soon discovered that the blocks just do not stay together. It's basically impossible to build...

Let me begin by saying that I did not buy this toy from Amazon, but it really doesn't matter about that.

On the surface, this looks like a really nice building toy, some combination of classic k'nex and building blocks similar to the lego style. However, my kids soon discovered that the blocks just do not stay together. It's basically impossible to build the bulldozer with the rubber belts around the wheels because the belt just keeps pulling off the axles from the main body of the machine. They just won't stay on. The other blocks do not stay together either. The traditional k'nex pieces of the rods and the spokes work great, but for the blocks, stick with Legos.

1.0 out of 5 stars Skip K'nex, buy Lego's instead., September 8, 2009

Lego is definitely more expensive, but K'nex is just another word for frustration. The things fall apart. Wheels fall off. There aren't enough pieces to reinforce the models. The kids get frustrated. They are really a cheap Lego knock off in my opinion.

My son was very happy with this kit. He is a young builder (only 5 1/2) and he needed some help, but he enjoyed making his own inventions as much as the kit itself.

because that's the only way these blocks will stick together.

My 6 YO son really likes the pictures of the designs on the box. They're cool he says. But when he tries to put them together, they just break apart. And then he cries. So he asks daddy to help. So I put them togther, then they just break apart. And then I curse (to myself of course).

This product is very much the same as legos. What child or adult can resist building blocks. Great fun. Excellent learning tool, and great for using your imagination.

2.0 out of 5 stars Find something elsedDoesn't stay together, December 29, 2009

My 8 year old son bought this for himself as he enjoys Knex products and we have enjoyed workng on large Knex products like the roller coaster together. This toy combines Knex pieces and Lego-type pieces. However in putting it together, the lego type pieces simply do not stay together. They basically come apart with gravity and are ok if you plan to put this on a shelf, but if you plan on playing with this I would avoid this toy. I became frustrating trying to get the toy to stay together and it is simply not made correctly to stay together and enjoy. I would encourage you to find another toy.
