FOR those of us who remember the excitement of the sixties this album will come as a more than pleasant surprise. Jeffrey Foskett has been Brian Wilson's right hand man on the tour circuit over the last few years but on this showing he deserves star billing all by himself. Cool And Gone just oozes sixties nostalgia - with hints of early Beatles, Searchers and Beach Boys. And he turns in an inspiring performance on The Marmalade's Reflections of My Life. But the 'Oscar' for this album goes to the title track, a beautiful lyric and a stunning performance from the man with the voice of an angel. You can retire with honour now Brian, because here's a man who can carry the harmony mantle for a new generation. Simply stunning.

Fortunate to Own a Copy of This!,

Anyone who can appreciate great music - great writing, production, orchestration, performance - put together into one piece of perfection, will find this cd a true treasure during the very first listen. If you are a devoted fan of the all-mighty Brian Wilson and his incredible inspirations, and the genius quality of a Todd Rundgren production, and if you loved the sounds of the Beach Boys, the Youngbloods, and maybe a small hint of other 60's bands here and there...and wrap them all into one cd that just makes you feel good to hear every bit of it -This Is The One!! It's original,...it's fresh,..it's a project put together by quite a talented bunch (read the inside cover!) This cd is GUARANTEED to make you dance around the room!!!

When oh When is Mr. Foskett going to put his catalog back into print? I have seen this man perform with Brian Wilson several times and love his own music on the same scale. Jeff, you are too good to let your catalog rust! They're a number of us that love Brian as much as you do, and love how you have inherited his talent, including an amazingly warm falsatto. Please re-release all of your stuff-AMAZON please help!

A pop gem (A must for Beach Boys fans!),

Mr. Foskett was a member of the touring Beach Boys for over a decade and he is currently serving as Brian Wilson's music director (a position that he has held since Wilson's first tour in 1999), so his pop credentials are well validated. His love of the Beach Boys and Beatles truly shines in this effort. COOL & GONE is packed with hook-filled songs that boast strong lead and harmony vocals, as well as a vibrant production that fondly recalls the Beach Boys SUNFLOWER (with a strong hint of the Beatles/Marshall Crenshaw). Yes, it is that good. This disc is a stunning reminder of just how good popular music can be. Highly recommended. |
