Very light weight, I thought, for a Katleen Eagle book. O.k. read, but I had expected more (length and intensity)

Sally Drexler was a human dynamo, always running, always taking on big projects, but now, the proprietor of the Double D Ranch and wild mustang sanctuary, has her hands full with her health, keeping the ranch solvent and opening up even more acreage to allow wild mustangs to be rescued. Once she supplied bulls for the rodeo circuit, but now, since a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis, she's grounded, and in and out of remission. With her sister partner newly married and on her honeymoon, Sally needs help in the worst way, and she figures Hank Night Horse is just the cowboy to ease her troubles and her soul.
Hank, a medical assistant and farrier, travels the rodeo circuit and stitches up cowboys. He's also a friend of Sally's new brother-in-law, and he's come to sing at the wedding. He meets Sally while she's enjoying a bit of skinny dipping and likes what he sees. Sally likes what she sees as well, and decides to enjoy her remission while she can. She wants hank on the ranch to help her realize her dreams of expanding the sanctuary, and she also wants him in her bed. Hank likes Sally and wants to help. He wants more as well, but he senses all is not right with the feisty young woman. Can he heal her soul so the real Sally can come out to play? This is another wonderful story from Ms. Eagle. I was a bit puzzled why Sally didn't feel comfortable telling Hank she had MS, but all was revealed in a believable way. Good strong dialogue, excellent setting, superb secondary characters served as a wonderful backdrop for Sally and Hank.

Kathleen Eagle is one of our best authors today. While the books are classified at Romance, they are also filled with history, facts and REAL people. I wish she could write faster !!!!!!! I can hardly wait for the next book to be available.

I usually love Kathleen Eagle's Novels, but this one did nothing for me. I knew it was a short novel when I purchased it. But that being said the story and especially the main characters simply were not developed. Not long after meeting Sally offers Hank "Friends with Benefits", also known as No-Strings-Attached Sex. That turned me off right there. This is supposed to be a romance. What is romantic about that?
Suddenly we are at the end of this book and both Hank and Sally say that they are in love with one another. Why? The characters were not developed enough for me to tell. This could have been a good book if it were longer and more effort were applied to developing their romance. The one plus for this book is that it portrays a woman who has MS. I have never read a book about a heroine with multiple sclerosis before. That earned it one Star.

I'm a big Kathleen Eagle fan. This is another great romance from an author who really knows how to make you care about her characters.
