Gorgeous book of hotels,

This review is from: Cool Hotels: India, Maldives, Sri Lanka (Paperback)
This gorgeous book of luxury hotels is organized by region and covers North India, Rajasthan, Goa, South India, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka. Each hotel is represented by a 1- to 2-page description and about 4 pages of color photographs (mostly interior, but some exterior). The description focuses on the design of the hotel - colors, materials, construction, furniture, finishes, etc. It is a wonderful book for designers and armchair travelers; it is not intended as a travel guide, although it does include the address, phone number and website of each hotel. The quality of the photographs is very good, the paperback cover is thick, and the binding seems strong. The photographs are an excellent source of inspiration for designers, and the text adds some context regarding the decisions made during the design process. Highly recommended for interior design libraries. |
