I checked out this book from the library just for kicks, but now I have to buy it because it's actually filled with a lot of good information that I find myself referencing to just about every other day. LL's food plan makes a lot of sense in terms of charging up the body's metabolism. I've done similar carb-cycling plans and they do tend to work, but I found LL's approach much more feasible and not so intimidating. His suggested meal plans and recipes are awesome too! That was an unexpected surprise; the foods he wants to eat are wholesome and delicious so you always feel satisfied and energized. Since weight-loss and weight-maintenance success rely heavily on diet, I found his nutrition plan incredibly helpful. His way of eating is definitely something I feel I can do for the rest of my life. As long as you're eating the right foods at the right time of day, you feel better and better each day. As a woman who has tried just about every fad diet (juice "cleanses," pills, grapefruit diet, the hospital diet, etc.) and even more "lifestyle" diets (weight watchers, atkins, south beach, etc.), LL's plan just works for me. Now that I'm familiar with what to eat, I haven't tracked a single calorie. I'm just eating, exercising and living.

I also enjoyed the first part of the book, in which he walks you through how to have a better outlook on life and yourself. Some parts get a little preachy or sound kind of silly, but overall, it's quite motivating.

I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 because the exercise section just got a little out of hand. There's a lot of great moves depicted, but there were just waaaay too many overall and they all pretty much require special equipment that can only be found at a gym.

Not only does this book have great workouts and helpful tips but what I love most is the meals part. I'm not much of a cook and the meals in this book are simple and really good. I bought this book over 6 months ago and I'm always picking it up and looking inside. This isn't a book that you will put on the shelf and forget about.

The book really connects with the reader and LL Cool J does NOT come off as "Hey I'm a celebrity". Since buying this book I can honestly say that I feel better and have more energy in my everyday life.

I think the book contains very valuable information.
Especially the first chapter about the state of mind that you are in and how you can make the changes in your life to get better.
The trainingchapter; I disagree a bit because I find the schedule difficult for a beginner because I' m a fitnesstrainer myself. I think it ' s to much split- program for a beginner but further than that the exercises are explained well and contain pictures of the exercise in question so that' s ok.
The food is explained very thourougly and very well. The meals are good, that' s perfect.

This is the second book from LL Cool J on fitness. His first book was brilliant and genius. What I like about this book and his first book is that he is using expect advice and counselling. The information in this book is what you would get if you payed thousands of dollars to trainers and doctors, but LL Cool J has compiled this book and put all this information together for those that cant afford that type of help. His first book radically changed my body and lifestyle most importantly. I use the workouts from his first book whenever I work out, because it is based on solid weight lifting sciences, like drop sets, reps and sets, cardio everything!! And in this book he brings to you the proven science of dieting. WOW!! LL Cool J is my go to guy when I need to get in the gym and get in shape. He's a down to earth celebrity that is in touch with the streets and still is Hollywood!!

I bought this book for the exercise and diet advice that it gave. This book got me back in the gym and working hard to get back in shape. There are excellent pictures and descriptions of the exercises. The diet has some great food choices (though they were somewhat limited for me being a pescitarian). Before the workout, I weighed 201 lb, and I ended at 188 lb after the 8 weeks. I look and feel much thinner and am definitely much stronger. I plan to continue a regular workout routine, given in the book. If you are looking for a workout plan/diet that will put you on the right path for getting into great shape this book is for you! Highly recommended!

I bought this book because I have been a fan of LL since I was in high school. I'm 44 now & a diabetic. I needed something to help me get back on track with my eating and exercise regimen. I love his recipes, I made the chicken fried rice first & then went out of the box & cooked the Salmon Pasta it was awesome & this is coming from someone who hates fish & almost never eats it! This book is easy to read and has a program that is very easy to follow. Every two weeks it's changes to not over work your muscles and prevent bordom. There are photos to show every exercise and a review list at the end of each chapter so if you memorize the movements you can just look at your list to keep you going. Checked it out at the library and couldn't wait to order it. thanks
