I ordered two of these, got them on Xmas Eve. Put one in and fired it up. It worked great. Turned it off, turned it on Xmas morning, ran it all day. That night I turned off the PC, and went to bed. Turned on the PC the day after xmas, POOF! Black smoke rising out of my PC. The PS blew up.

My PC is nothing wild, an i7 with 24 gigs of ram, a single GF670. Two hard drives, one DVD drive, one network card. A 400 watt could have run this system, in fact, a 500 watt ran it for the past 3 years with a more power hungry Graphics Card. This 980 watt should have been overkill.

I ordered two of these, the other one is now in a different system. We'll see what happens, this dead one is going back to Amazon, and I'll be looking to order another PS from a different manufacturer, hopefully with better quality control.

I bought this power supply thinking i would save a few bucks. It lasted all of 2 days before it popped. Gratefully i put the old power supply back in and everything seems to be ok. I've learned my lesson about trying to save a buck and will now be buying a quality corsair psu.

Tried to replace 500 Watt power supply with this one but would not boot. Rather disappointed. Reinstalled old power supply and will be looking for another brand.

I plug in the power supply on my new PC, (a ROG Crosshair V Formula Z, with an AMD FX-8150 with liquid cooling system), after one use of like 2 hours i turned off, next day it didn't works, so then i unplug the new power supply and put my old power supply of 480W and it works perfectly, now i have to buy another one here in my country(Costa Rica), it's less complicate than send it back to US :S #bad_luck

This is a useless piece of trash. There is a reason that is so much cheaper that every other similarly power unit; it doesn't work. The construction is flimsy compared to other power supplies, but the main problem is that the wires are crossed. If you try to use one of these you could actually damage your computer.

I decided to replace my 500 watt psu with this one so I could crossfire a pc I'm making out of spare parts. I had everything hooked up and turned it on.......nothing. My boards standby LED was flashing. I found out the diagnostics in the board indicated not enough power to properly run the board. I put the originall 500watt psu back in and everything is fine. This one is going back.
