His music will give you that cool, relaxed feeling!,

I have been a fan of Jon B. since Babyface discovered him. "Someone to Love" made my heart just melt. I knew I was going to love his music after that. "Bonifide" some how just blew right pass me. I defintely made it my business to get his next release when it came out! "Cool, Relax" is the BOMB!! I can't get enough of of it. I listen to it on my way to work, coming from work, when I'm cleaning my house and all that. I even put one of his songs on my answering machine. A lot of the songs Jon wrote I can definitely relate to. The way he sings is so sexy. He's real mellow. The woman in his life is the most luckiest woman on earth. I wish I was her!

One of a few albums you must own before you die!!!,

1. You bought 100 albums in the 90s and you're remaining with probably 10, this CD should be among them coz its content is still relevant even after 10 years. This album features the top 10 hit single "They don't know" produced by Tim & Bob, the team behind Bobby Valentino's success. I own all Jon B albums from Bonafide, Pleasures you like and the recent "Stronger Everyday" but "Cool Relax" is his best and one of the best albums of the 1990s.
2. You would like to get a mix of D'Angelo and Babyface who wrote "Pride & Joy" and one of the best tracks on this album, the heartbreaking balad "Love hurts". Jon B is a remedy for you if just want chilling at home with your wifey, please listen to "Tu amor" a song penned by Dianne Warren (Aerosmith, Shania Twain, Toni Braxton, LeAnn Rimes, Mary J Blige etc) and produced by David Foster (Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, All-4-one etc)... 3. The track "Are you still there" is a duet with Tupac and also one of the best rnb & hiphop collaborations. 4. This album contains no fillers, you might think it's a "Best of Collection" coz Every song is great from They don't know, Love hurts, Watcha Say Boo, up to Cool Relax). 5. Jon B is one of the few artists who have succeeded in mixing soul & hiphop cultures. The CD is not boring at all, I always discover a song whenever i play it. Listen to "Ain't going out", the chorus says:"Fellas I ain't going out cause my ol' lady's showing me how she likes to keep me in the house to do my homework...". Stimes when you just wanna chill with your boo and don't wanna hang out with friends, just listen to this album, that's why it's called "Cool Relax" coz it's for the grown & Sexy guys. This album is really a true masterpiece. For those who collect Stevie Wonder, Lionel Richie, D'Angelo, Babyface or R Kelly CDs, please there is a genius but underrated artist you must add in your catalog... Jon B.

Definitely Cool Relax....,

I've had this cd since 1998 and lately I've been listening to it off and on. This cd is very mellow, has a nice flow and the beats are bangin'. It also has a nice range of slow and uptempo jams. Jon B has a beautiful voice that flows real well with his music. My favorite jams are Shine (my absoulute favorite on the whole cd), Don't Say, They Don't Know, Are U Still Down featuring 2Pac, I Do(Whatcha Say Boo), Pride & Joy, and Love Hurts. Jon B did a very good job on his sophmore effort. He has a new single out right now "Don't Talk" and it's blazin' hot so I know his forthcoming cd has got to be hot too.

This CD was my first Jon B. injection. The first time that I heard his talent was through the track "they don't know", from this point on, I was hooked for life. There are artists out there that releases a CD that only contains a FEW songs that you can listen to, but with Jon B. and "Cool Relax" all his tracks are something to look forward to. Everything from "Shine" to "Tu Amor" is worth listening to and worth every penny that you're going to spend on this CD. You can't go wrong! If you're a fan of Babyface, Boys II Men, 112 and so many others in the R&B family (like myself) then you're going to love Jon B. He's not only hot, but he has a voice to back up the success in his career.

BOB YOUR HEAD TO THIS!,

WHEN A VANILLA BROTHA CAN HIT THE WAY JON DID ON R&B CHARTS, WELL YOU KNOW YOU GOT A WINNER. HE CAME TO US WITH "SOMEONE TO LOVE", AND "PRETTY GIRL", AND HE AIN'T STOPPED BANGIN YET. HIS LYRICS AND MUSIC HIT YOU IN A WAY THAT MAKES YOU (MAN/WOMAN)BOB, FEEL WHERE HE'S COMIN FROM. "COOL..RELAX" WAS THE BOMB. I DON'T KNOW HOW HARD HE WORKED ON THIS CD, BUT HIS MUSIC AND VOICE SEEM EFFORTLESS, AND YOU CAN VIBE WITH HIS FLOW. I ENJOYED EVERY LAST SONG ON THIS CD. EVEN IF YOU BUY THIS WITHOUT HEARING IT FIRST, YOU'LL STILL COME OUT ON TOP, CAUSE HE'S JUST THAT DEEP ON THIS. DON'T MISS OUT ON A GOOD THING. CHECK HIM OUT, HE'S WORTH IT. AND JON IF YOU SHOULD READ THIS, OR YOUR MANAGERS AND AGENTS SHOULD COME ACROSS THIS, ALL I WANT TO SAY IS; DON'T STAY GONE LONG. WE'RE WAITING FOR YA OUT HERE, AND WE KNOW THAT WHATEVER YOU DROP NEXT WILL BE BANGING.

A Great R&B Soul That's Missed,
By Dezire (long island, ny) - See all my reviews

Jon B. was an excellent star is truly missed in the R&B game right now. He needed a good marketing team to get his music out, but horribly failed. This CD did pretty good as far as sales, but it could've went much further. This album has no fillers, you could listen to it from beginning to end without skipping. The standout tracks are "Don't Say", "Are You Still Down", "They Don't Know", " I Do", as well as others. If you don't have this album or his last major label "Pleasure U Like" you should definitely check it out.

One of the best R&B albums released in 1997,
By Derrick Dunn "The Realest DJ" (Woodbridge,VA) - See all my reviews

For Jon B's second sophmore album he enlisted the help of the late Tupac to give him a single the hood could appericate which was Are You Still Down. Are You Still Down had a grown man hip hop feel to it as in the video both men were dressed in suits. However the ballads are the strong department on the CD. Cool Relax yieled two huge singles which were They Don't Know & I Do (Whatcha Say Boo). There are also some excllent album only slow jams which just as easily could have been singles which include Pride & Joy, I Ain't Going and Love Hurts.Cool Relax was an enjoyable disc. The music, production, tunes, and songwriting all converge and result in an alluring, romantic, and bracingly modern soul.

R&B at it's Best !!!!,
By
This review is from: Cool Relax (Audio CD)
The other day I came upon "Cool Relax" and it took me back. The music is mellow, at the same time jazzy, and Jon's smooth delivery put's it all together. He truly outdid himself with his sophomore album. He took a more "lovemaking" approach to R&B music, instead of the typical "let's have sex" theme, which was the theme of the 90s. His musicality is reminiscent to that of the Isley Brothers, Teddy Pendergrass, The Commodores, etc. I have to say that "Cool Relax" is one of his best albums! I love every song on the CD, so it's extremely hard to choose what songs are the best.
He truly projects real emotion in each of the cuts. The song "Love Hurts" makes more sense then you realize, when you really are hurt by someone you love, and for anyone who has ever been involved with someone who let's other people get involved into the relationship tell them "They don't know." Altogether I don't ever recall pressing skip. In "They Don't Know" you can sense the frustration he feels in that people are trying to interfere with his love and make it seem insincere. In "Can't Help It" you can sense much anger, confusion, and frustration. "I Do (Whatcha Say Boo?)" is one of the many songs in which Jon pours his heart out and lets us, the listeners, feel all of the love he is expressing. I have to applaud Jon B. for his incredible talent!!... He truly has a gift and I, as well as many others, are thankful that he is sharing that gift with the world! I LOVE this album and think it should be in everyone's personal collection, whether it's used for personal enjoyment or that SPECIAL evening with a loved one.

Let me start off by sayin that even though I'm a guy,I luv R&B and artists such as Jon B. (my favorite) the man has got obvious talent which hasn't yet received the recognition he truly deserves. My fav. song is "Shine", I listen to it over n over again n will play it for that special someone one day if i ever find her, till then, I keep all my jon b cd's near and patiently wait. I also recommend tracks #2,3,4,6,7,8,9,11,14, and 15 (listen to the accapella at the end, it ends the song so smooth n nicely) Hell, anythang Jon B is hot, 1 luv

Cool and Relaxed,
This review is from: Cool Relax (Audio CD)
Jon B. has done it again (he has won my heart). With his second album Cool Relaxed Jon has proven to be one of the best! With songs like They Don't Know that is a note to his girl that he's not a playa no more! Also song like Don't Say and Baby Are You Still Down with the late Tupac that proves it doesn't matter what race you are,as long as you have the voice you can win alot of hearts and I'm sure Jon has! These are only a few song that I like on this c.d., but if you buy it your surely find more treasures in this treasure chest!
