5.0 out of 5 stars Coolaroo Triangle Shade Sail
Exactly as described, delivered when expected, excellent quality. It did take some thought to configure where best to attach the three corners. There isn't any "stretch" to the material, however, that is a plus because it stays where you hook it. The color, Desert Sand, looks great with our house and deck. The shade does not block the view of our trees and golf course...

2.0 out of 5 stars Material, size, not what I expected
i ordered the coolaroo shade sail thinking this was going to funk-up my backyard and make it look hip and modern. I had seen it in a pic of a friend's backyard and it looked great. I had a hard time determining the right size - on the online info there were no recommendations that i could find regarding suitable sizing of sail to space, and even when i received it it...

I highly recommend the Shade Sail for shading an area while keeping with the aesthetics of your landscape.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice Shade, Great Price, June 9, 2009
By

Our local store was selling this for twice Amazon's price, so the price was great. Installation went okay I suppose. Overall it wasn't too difficult except they wanted the hole for the post to be 2ft diameter by 4ft deep ... any idea how hard it is to dig a hole with those dimensions? Would have been MUCH easier with an auger, but didn't want the added expense. Now that the sail is up though, it's great and I highly recommend for a quicker, cheaper option than building a covered porch or pergola. Also, it comes down really easily when the Oklahoma winds pick up, which is a plus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Coolaroo Triangle Shade Sail, August 19, 2009

Great product. It's very well made and easy to install. What a difference it has made in cooling down our deck area from the hot afternoon sun. It lets plenty of air and light through and looks nice. We've received tons of compliments and comments on how cool it is underneath. Just make sure whatever you attach it to, is strong enough to hold it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent product, August 15, 2009

This review is from: Coolaroo 16-Foot-by-5-Inch Triangle Shade Sail with Hardware Kit (Kitchen)
This was the perfect product to cover my patio. I have an L shape with two walls bracketing two sides of my patio. I was able to put this right into the corner. Keep in mind this is an equilateral triangle and doesn't have a right angle....HOWEVER...I got mine to fit by attaching to opposite sides of the L and then knotting the third corner short to fit into the corner of my patio. Works and looks great. This looks good and gets lots of compliments. Seems like it will hold up good. The hardware seems sturdy. Has held up to several big storms so far, and you can take down quickly if you want to. Doesn't keep the rain from coming through and it's not made to. Stretched out a little due to rain/wind, but all you have to do is screw the hooks tighter to eliminate the sag. I got mine for about [....]I think for the 16 footer. Great deal, very pleased. Seems to be a much higher quality than other ones I looked at. Prices look high currently...[...] had these too but were sold out when I was purchasing.

5.0 out of 5 stars Better than the average shade, August 25, 2010

So, a little over a year ago, I set up cemented-in, metal poles and used 4 cheaper shades. When the Monsoon season hit, the shades' corner linkage tore out and they were flapping everywhere and became unusable.

This summer, I bought 3 Coolaroo shades. These shades are clearly better built with regard to how the corner linkage attaches to the shade and came with quite a bit of hardware (carabiners and turnbuckles). Today, when my wife called me to tell me the Coolaroo shades were flapping about, I thought, "Monsoon season again and even these shades can't take it;" however, when I got home, I discovered that all 3 shades held but hardware attaching two of the shades failed. Again, the shades themselves were fine but the turnbuckles simply gave releasing them and I was able to easily reattach the shades.

4.0 out of 5 stars Create's excellent shade, July 6, 2010

High quality shade sail. Creates about a 10 to 20 degree temp. difference under sail. Looks really sharp, i put up 3 overlapping and get compliments from everyone who sees them. The only issue i have is they where very difficult to put up. The directions could have been a little more detailed, they supply some hardware but i still needed to buy another $150 worth of connections and poles to install the 3 sails. If it wasn't for that issue i would have given it 5 stars, and i do recommend these for anyone looking to create shade in there yard, just make sure your handy enough to install them.

4.0 out of 5 stars High Quality Backyard Tents, May 17, 2011
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The tent material is of high quality and the stainless steel hardware is a nice bonus. I ended up spending the extra money for stainless 3 1/2" screws, 3/16" wire, and connecting hardware (e.g, eyebolts). I painted the galvanized 1 1/2" schedule 40 pipe with a cold-galvanized paint for a "finished" look and added durability.

When installing, be sure to add 10% to the 16' 5" length when measuring for pole placement in the ground. We were satisfied with ~2.5 feet deep holes since the last ~1.5 feet was pure limestone that required an electric jackhammer. And, an extra hand or two is recommended when stretching the tents with a ratchet.

The tent warranty period is 10yrs. Time will tell...

5.0 out of 5 stars Attractive and effective!, December 3, 2010

We have a large deck that gets too much sun during the summer months. The heat is unbearable at times and it's almost too bright to see. In search of a solution, short of installing a permanent canopy, we found the Coolaroo brand shade sails on Amazon. We purchased two of them: the 11'10" and the 16'5". It took a little work to figure out exactly where we wanted to mount them, but once in place, we could not be more pleased! The sails look fantastic. They are very high quality. They do a wonderful job of keeping temperatures more comfortable and lessening glare. We bought them in July 2010 and only recently took them down for the winter. This is another bonus: Since they're not permanent, we can put them up or take them down as the seasons change. Excellent product!

5.0 out of 5 stars really work, June 8, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought one to create shade in the corner of the paddock of my miniature horse. It creates generous shade and truly is cooler underneath. The breeze makes it through the canvas so the horse isn't in a shady oven but stays even cooler. The canvas is very thick as well as the stitching and construction. These are not like the riveted tarps you find at the hardware store; not even close. These are made to last. The color is a gorgeous sandy gold. We've paid far more for heavy duty tarps that simply didn't last. We bought several more and have one in each paddock. The horses use them every day and prefer them to the tree shade or old tarp shade. No worries about wind storms; these are standing up to the strong Texas wind. If I find any issues with them, I'll update this review. This is a temporary solution since we just moved and our barn isn't up yet. Once we get our buildings up, we will be able to use these tarps around the pool.
