This portable shade sail can be used almost any where for protection from the sun outside to creating a fun play area in side. This state of the art material blocks up to 90% of the suns harmful rays yet remains totally unaffected by moisture and natural temperature extremes and because Coolaroo fabric is knitted, not woven, it won't tear or fray. Coolaroo Party Sails have been designed to be perfect for both outdoor and indoor activities including: parties, sandboxes, play rooms, picnics and more. Party sails include our tape/tape constructed shade sail plus three snare lines for installation. Grommet corners make installation fast and easy. The sail has a three year warranty against fabric UV degradation.

It's just a fabric with some holes on the corners to tie it up...but it's much better than your typical patio umbrella.
Just remember that the shadow it casts isn't that big so if you need lots of constant shadow, go bigger!

Good quality material, seems lighter that the bigger sized ones. It has a grommeted hole at each corner, not D rings and it comes with three lenghts of Nylon rope to attach it .This sail does not come with ANY hardware. Fluro green, very bright. Fine for temporary use in very small areas. I wish I had gone bigger.

The Coolaroo shade cloths are really well made and worth their price, but do look around since they sell for a wide range of prices. (And keep shipping in mind as well.) These make excellent backyard and camping shades. Small enough to take with you but large enough to make a nice little shaded reading area on the back porch.

Works fine for hot afternoon sun. We attached to a pavillion on western exposure. Does the trick.
