5.0 out of 5 stars Coolaroo Shad Sail
I purchased this product to shade my pond. The fabric is excellent quality and the inclosed hardware was good too. We live on the side of a mountain in a very windy area and the best part is how the sail handles the gusts of wind. I intend to purchase a second one to cover a sitting area to be completed this fall.

3.0 out of 5 stars Didn't work out..
Wanted to create some shade on new auto..living in South Florida, the sun really
beats up a paint job.. Anyway, as most awning/structures were too unatractive..plus
would not withstand wind storms..thought we would try the sail shade..However..no matter how we tried to configure..the actual shade area was so small, it was rendered useless. The triangle is cut...

The triangle is cut on concave lines..probably to withstand wind, etc..but makes for small shadow.. We had to return the item.. Still have no good solution.
Even though we ordered the 16.5 Ft shade; the first six or more feet on each
end are so thin..there is almost no shadow thrown..Product seemed of good quality, &
the included hardware looked adequate. Would be nice if you had the room for multiple
shades..overlapping..

5.0 out of 5 stars I like It, July 5, 2010

I needed shade over our patio. A year ago I bought a Coolaroo shade and it worked out great. I bought a second one a month ago and the two together provide just the right amount of shade. Using 10 foot 4 x 4s I set my own posts. Make sure you set them the right distance in a true triangle shape. I bought some chain to connect the corners of the shade to the posts. Once complete, I find them easy to take down and put up, but unless a tornado is coming you won't need to. They really hold up well to storms. Not only do I have the shade I wanted but it's 10 to 15 degrees cooler under the shade. I really like this product and I got a great price at Amazon.

We've had one Coolaroo shade for 2 years and love it. We bought this second one to shade more of our back patio. It works well and gives us more comfortable time in the backyard.

5.0 out of 5 stars Rodents we eat this cloth..., November 26, 2009

if stored incorrectly, I kid you not. Perhaps it was for nesting and not consumption but I had to sew some patches onto one of the two triangular shade cloths we own a while ago. (NOT COOLAROO'S FAULT) We have been deploying them without other problems for 10 years now. One year an appraiser gave us tax credits for having passive solar around our home. The aesthetic appeal is also nice. Many compliments going on 10 years and counting. By the way, cool optical occurrences happens when you connect two: They actually appear to bend around corners! We used trees, our home and finally steel pipe as attachment points. The pipe was the best method. Another thing about that weave is that mold will not find it a suitable habitat and wind can find no purchase. In a moist marine environment, this is a hugh selling point. I trust Coolaroo. They build bulletproof items. By the way, their pet beds are the bomb for older dogs if you have any.

5.0 out of 5 stars Shade from a sail?, October 24, 2010

This review is from: Coolaroo Triangle Shade Sail 16 Feet 5 Inches with Hardware Kit, Brunswick Green (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased a green Coolaroo Triangle Shade for our deck. Our old one had ripped to pieces after about 6 years in our weather and our relaxation area needs at least SOME relief from the Texas heat. It is a great sail-shaped 16' triangle. There is only one seam, which makes it less likely to be torn when the winds pick up and it seems sturdier than our old one. It comes with two turn buckles that can help the kite reach that tree waaaaay in the back of your yard. You'll LOVE it!

Our Coolaroo Sun Sail is now doing a great job shading our koi pond. the fish are more active and we have noticed less algae growth. Wonderful addition to our garden.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not much shade!, July 12, 2010

This review is from: Coolaroo Triangle Shade Sail 16 Feet 5 Inches with Hardware Kit, Brunswick Green (Lawn & Patio)
The construction and materials in this Shade Sail are first rate. However, I was shocked at how small the shade area was when properly stretched. Don't go by the actual dimensions of the triangle sail when determining which size to purchase. When properly installed the shade area is much smaller than the sail's uninstalled dimensions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Takes the Kansas Wind, June 23, 2011

This review is from: Coolaroo Triangle Shade Sail 16 Feet 5 Inches with Hardware Kit, Brunswick Green (Lawn & Patio)
We ordered this sun shade to shade some new plants and block the neighbors. Works great, installation was not a problem, we actually have the metal parts on the fences and pulled the top of the triangle and tied it up in the tree about 15 foot up. We have had seriously bad wind this spring 30 mph every day with some days over 40-50 and higher gusts. This has held up like a champ. No problems. I highly recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!, May 8, 2011

Our motel has 2 triangular shades that are beginning their third New Mexico summer.
High winds and intense sunlight have done NO damage. I don't think you will find a better product no matter the price.
