This review is from: Cooler Master Elite 335 ATX Mid Tower Case Black - (RC-335-KKN1-GP) (Personal Computers)
For my new build, I purchased this case. My previous computer was in a Cooler Master Centurion 5 and I've been very pleased by that case. Needless to say, I wasn't too thrilled by this one. Actually to the point of using my old Centurion again for the new build and putting the old parts in the new case.
First off, the case flex. Motherboards don't care to be flexed about. The back panel where the board connects flexes pretty bad, and trying to install components, or sometimes simply screwing things down can cause the metal to bow and bend all around. Then other places, such as where the I/O panel goes, has no rigidity at all. After trying to place the I/O plate in there, I actually deformed the rear! Nothing too serious, but it goes to show how flexable this metal really is. Now for the "screwless" design. One side has thumb screws, the other standard phillips-head screws. To install drives, you must remove both sides of the case... And then the little V things to hold drives in place. Basically the edges of the V's have rods that go through where screws would normally go, then the middle has a lock that latches to the case. While this design works, it doesn't seem nearly as sturdy nor is it as easy to use as the design in the Centurion case. After all the minus's, there are some plus's... I will say the part made to hold expansion/PCI/whatever cards in place works very well. It holds the cards much more securely than the Centurion's method does. HOWEVER, there's no way to use screws for added security. While not as necessary as in the Centurion, I prefer knowing my cards won't slide out of the slot... It's hard to say if I'd really recommend this case. I'm not too pleased with how poorly the drive portion of the screw-less design functions, but it may also be used with screws. I also do really like how the front of this case looks, perhaps more so than the Centurion 5. I guess if the good looks matched the quality, I'd love this case...

This is really a sharp looking case, but it by no means is a heavy duty case. I would NOT recommend this case for anyone who frequently transports their computer. It does not take much to bend the rear brackets, etc. I was really surprised. This is my first Cooler Master case, and I've always heard that they make high quality cases. I'll probably go back to Antec for my next build.
4 stars only because it looks really nice.

Excellent product. Went together easy and keeps my new PC cool. The only thing I didn't like about it was the plastic clips to hold my drives in. But that is easy to fix, by just using screws. Otherwise it is a great case for my needs.

Just got done installing my hardware in this case..everything pretty much fell into place..and unlike other reviewer I like the no screw design..snapped down my dual slot video card..no wiggle..same for hard drive and cd rom..both are held very secure with the clips provided..the side panels are a lttle thin on the metal side..but I don't expect to be constantly taking my pc back apart, or moving it around much..and well hey..its a computer case not a tank sorry guys..it does it what it says it does..and it to me is very much worth its price..would def buy this case again..

Nice case with good air flow. Metal is a little thin but should not affect performance. Fan is quiet but not much air flow. There is dust filter in the front but would be nice if they includ filter for the side vents.

This is a slick little case and for fifty bucks you can't go wrong. However, I do wish that the case was shipped as show. Suggesting that there are LEDs in the back and an LED fan in the front. I would have paid an extra ten bucks for that. Other than that, another win for Cooler Master.

I purchased this case for a custom built computer for office use. I use the cooler master HAF 932 at home and like it so much that I decided to go with the same brand for my office machine. This case has good build quality and looks very professional. So far I haven't seen it get warm even under heavy load. You can also install a 80mm case fan on the side if you need to. Very well ventilated. Definitely recommend this case for a heavy use regular PC.

The reason I'm Giving it 4 stars is because its tooless design doesn't seem to work as good as advertised, meaning you can use it but it may not hold your hardware as safe as screws. But you can always use screws. Side panel chassis air duct is made for Intel Chips I believe because it didn't align properly with my AMD chip. There's enough space for everything. Now some reviewers been talking about that it might not fit SLI but I guess it all depends on the motherboard you are using because mine fits two GPUs very well and there's a space for them to breathe. It is pretty lightweight so you wouldn't hurt your back while trying to move it. It looks pretty and matches with my black 23" LG LCD monitor and my black Speaker set, black keyboard and mouse and of course black webcam :)

I bought this case for a buget computer build. It has an enough room for what I need. I also like the fact that there is the option for an additional fan in the front (not included). It also arrived undamaged, which is good. The free shipping was also a plus.

I bought it from Amazon for around [...] bucks.
Cool-Master is light weight, not heavy enough compared with Antec Atlas, the internal side of iron even cut my fingers, so you know how thin it is. But it worth it's price, good for a low budget DIY desktop. |
