I have 3.2Mhz Intel P4 Socket 478
Minimum CPU Temp was 60C now is 35C.
You have to remove MB to change but it's worth it.

when buying this make sure that it wont interfere with any optional fans if plan to buy one

this is one heck of a cooler, i use after effects cs4 which max out all 4 cores of my processor when rendering, and my cpu temps only hits like 41 degrees, as soon as rendering finish, it will return back to like 35 or 36 degrees, awesome cooler, only downside is screwing it on from the back side of the mobo

My Intel Core 2 Quad 9450 is only 42 degrees Celsius while the room temperature is 30. It's very effective and quiet with the included 120mm fan. An additional 120mm fan can be attached making it a dual fan push-pull set up. Although it is relatively big and heavy, it fits in the Coolermaster CM690 chassis just fine.

I built a system with a Q9550 quad core and a MSI P45 Neo 2 MB.

I do a lot of video editing with a HD Camcorder. My cpu temps were routinely running 62 to 65 degrees when I was rendering video or moving around pieces of video.

I researched all the cpu coolers on Amazon and chose this one, because it looked like it would work well and it is tall but thin, so it would fit my mb.

Hooking it up took about 45 minutes, but actually had good instructions.

I can not get my cpu about 45 degrees any more. The fan is not as silent as some other reviews have said. But its not loud.
