Maybe I just had bad luck with this PSU.

I like the appearance of the metal case of itself, because I like blue and black, but the cables are not adequately sleeved.

Just to remind everybody, there are actually TWO versions of the 650W and 750W models. The older versions have model numbers of RS650-ACAAE3-US and RS750-ACAAE3-US, while the newer versions have model numbers of RS650-ACAAD3-US and RS750-ACAAD3-US (there is only one version of the 450W model, RS450-ACAAD3-US).

Yes, there is a difference between the "E3" and "D3" units. The older "E3" units made by Seventeam, while the newer "D3" units are made by Enhance Electronics. The "E3" units are no good, while the "D3" units are much better. So if you are buying the 650W or 750W model, be sure to ask if the unit for sale is a "D3" unit.

Cooler Master is by far exceptional when it comes to cooling products, so i wasn't to sure when it came to purchasing a PSU. I need to power an over clocked i7 920 running at 3.6 Ghz along with a GTX 470. My old Power Up running at 450w wasn't cutting it and i already had a bad experience with a cheap brand (Never again!). Came really fast with 2-Day prime shipping ordered it Friday afternoon and got it Monday After noon. Installation was easy came with seethed cables 4x6pin connectors which is a great attribute when you want to SLI your video cards which is also a good sign knowing it can push that much power. As always stays cool and really quiet im glad to say i made this purchase unlike the PSU i had purchased before. This is a great Mid range PSU it wont let you down and it hasn't let me down yet been running it for about 5 days and hasn't given me any issues. If this isn't for you just make sure you buy a name brand PSU and always check for that 80 plus cert so you know its always going to have the guarantee that it will push.

I got this when I was building my new rig in July. I like the appearance of the metal case of itself, because I like blue and black, but the cables are not adequately sleeved. Maybe that is just me, but I don't like how you can see through the crummy sleeving to the red, yellow, green, etc. wires. One other thing that also bothers me a bit is how they only have 3 molex connections. I know molex is being phased out, but so many fans, pumps, and fan controllers still use molex, and if you try and put that all onto 3 connectors, splitters will be needed. Other than that, this PSU is extremely reliable, silent, and high-quality. It has 9 SATA power connections, which is most likely more than you'll need. It runs an i5 750 @ 4GHz, a GTX 470 @ 825/1650/1000, a 12v water cooling pump, and everything else in my system without a sweat. It's a great PSU and I'd recommend this to everyone that needs something in this wattage range.

I was hesitant to buy this power supply at first, but I don't know why I was worried. This power supply is incredibly silent! I was wondering if it was even on at first, but sure enough it was on. The fan on it is thermally controlled so it wasn't on full bore like my last power supply. I went from a generic 500 watt to this silent monster. Not to mention it comes with a five year warranty and it is 80 plus certified. I can sleep with my computer on without it keeping me awake now! I am very happy with my purchase and you will be too!

P.S. I ordered it around midnight on a Wednesday and got it Friday afternoon! It came to my place much quicker than I expected and I only paid for standard shipping!

I saw a glowing video review of the Cooler Master GX 650W and decided to buy it for my plan to build a Hackintosh. Everything was great for a week until I heard rattling. I checked all the fans and disk drives I could see and all looked and sounded okay. When I got close to the power supply I realized it was doing the rattling. Every 10-15 seconds it was rattling some. I saw the fan wasn't spinning at all. Just jerking a little sometimes.

After some detective work with Google I found someone else who had the same problem. In his blog he said he was able to solve the problem temporarily by putting the machine upside down. This worked for me too. But for how much I paid I'm not keeping my PC upside down from now on. I'm disappointed and irritated I need to order a replacement, remove this power supply, and put in a new one. Ugh. I won't buy another of these. I'm off to Google for a quiet reliable power supply now...

The first thing I want to address is the noise issue. Other reviewers say that power supply gets loud when doing complex/power-hungry tasks. Please note, however, that the sound they are talking about is NOT the hum or electric buzz associated with cheaper power supplies. The sound that DOES get louder is the fan pushing the air around. Frankly, it is not bothersome to me and it a whole lot quieter than any other power supply. You won't hear any electric buzzing.

The second point I want to talk about is cord length. I was a little concerned that the cord length would not be long enough for my ATX case with cable management. However, it was more than adequate and definitely a lot longer cords than any other Power supply I have had.

Breakdown
- Sounds : 9/10 (The fan on this PSU will speed up or slow down depending on the tasks you are doing. The sound is not that loud and consists only of the sounds of moving air)
- Cord Length : 10/10 (I was surprised this PSU had ample cord length for my ATX case with cable management.)
- Customer Service : 8/10 (Nothing surprising here. You call with a problem, wait a little for a service rep, and get it fixed. I have not tried claiming the Warranty because this PSU has had no problems. The simple fact that someone actually answers the phone is a HUGE benefit over the other PSU suppliers who never answer nor honor warranty.)

EDIT ON 8/15/2013
A year and a half later, this PSU is still in use. I have actually upgraded my graphics card, motherboard, and CPU since then yet I still use this great power supply! I am truly impressed, it still runs as quiet as the day I got it and I have no problems at all with it.
