PROS: Nice looking design! With places for two side fans and with the 140mm top fan and the option of adding a back fan, there is lots of cooling.

3.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good except for the sharp edges
I was really happy with this case until I got a big cut on my fingers when putting back one of the side panels. Turns out that the retainer clips on the panels have really sharp edges. This is really unexpected on a case that costs more than sixty bucks. So now I have to be extra careful about handling the panels. If there sharp edges were on a part that is handled less...

This review is from: Cooler Master RC-600-KKN1-GP Gladiator 600 Mid Tower ATX Case with 140mm Fan (Black) (Personal Computers)
PROS: Nice looking design! With places for two side fans and with the 140mm top fan and the option of adding a back fan, there is lots of cooling.

The case is sturdy with almost no sharp edges and lots of room to install your stuff. The mounts for both the hard drive and the DVD drive work well and provide solid retention.

With two side fans with mounting for fans up to 140mm, there is good airflow and cooling.

CONS: I wasn't thrilled with both the HD LED and ON LED being white. Tradition, in my opinion would have been best --- blue LED for the ON light and RED LED for the hard drive. Also, the viewing angle for these LEDs is narrow, i.e. you have to be looking at the front from in-front to see the light, off angle is cut off.

The front case fan is so filtered (filter is fine foam) that very little air passes thru. Removing the foam helps airflow, but still not much is getting thru. Maybe a higher RPM fan would help here. The one that comes with it is a 1200 RPM fan. The perferrated cover sheet in front of the front fan could also stand larger holes here.

The tool-less clips for retaining add-on cards are fragil. Mine for the video card broke easily, but you can install a screw in that situation, so all ends well. To be honest, I was pressing hard on it to try and make it latch, but not more pressure than I've used on other computer cases with this type of fixture. Examining the plastic part showed it to be weak, a poor design.

I've concentrated on what I felt were weaknesses, but I really do like the case and would buy it again. It was well and acqurately made, good paint job, nice front bezel, etc. The layout for the internal parts is good, easy to work with and one feature that I really appreciated was the cut-out behind the processor for installing the CPU cooler where a back plate is used for support. Other cases make you remove the MoBo if you are doing something that requires access to the bottom of the board.

My conclusion is I like the case, it's not perfect, but there is no such thing as a perfect case!

This review is from: Cooler Master RC-600-KKN1-GP Gladiator 600 Mid Tower ATX Case with 140mm Fan (Black) (Personal Computers)
The case is well built and comes with 2 fans installed, one a 120mm and the other a 140mm. I found the click locks for the installation of HDD's to work very well. The cables were easy to connect and had enough length. I know some reviewers said the cables needed to be longer but I didn't have this issue. All in all, great value for the money. After seeing mine my son ordered a differant cooler master case for his server. Concluding and rightly so that if my case at this price point was so well built that buying a server case from them was a no brainer.

This case just looks awesome!! The construction quality is very high and it has a lot of nice features to simplify putting your computer together. I really liked the hard drive side mounts that install without screws and the quick connect clips for the external bays. The whole front panel is mesh with a filter behind it. I am very happy with the value of this case.

5.0 out of 5 stars Solid Case well designed, December 1, 2009

Although I'm a very experienced techy, this was my first PC build using individual components. This Cooler Master Gladiator is 10 times better than cases supplied by your regular PC manufacturers in terms of ease of access to hard disk drives, DVD / Blu-ray drives, etc. In addition, there are plenty of mounting points to run your cabling to keep things tidy inside the case. The included hardware rails for installing hard disks made this process a breeze. I am running 5 individual hard disk drives inside this case and can plug an additional HDD via the supplied eSata port on the front of the case. I like the power supply on the bottom of the case and had no issues with cable length. This case made my first PC build a very positive experience. It is a solid, easy to work with, and good looking case. If I needed to build another PC, I would choose this Cooler Master Gladiator case again without hesitation.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, January 16, 2010

This is a very well built case. Good size:weight ratio, tool-less design that works and not bad to look at.

I had initially intended this case for a water-cooled setup, but the fan positioning on the top, rear and a last ditch above the psu spot were all challenged. If I were to swap out my current cpu set up there would be no issue and water would roar through this box, but not for now. As it is, for an air-cooled setup, there is great control over the turbulence, and porting is less restrictive than other brands of similar design. I am very happy with this case, and foresee a lengthy life for it as upgrades evolve.

Conversely, this unit doesn't have the exterior ports other CM models have for water setups. A graphics card over 10.5" would be a gamble to fit, and a SLI/Crossfire for such impossible. In a single graphics application most boards' first 16x slot will line up with the bottom of the 5.25" bay and a longer card would work (maybe), but after that the positioning of the unchangeable hdd bay will stop you at 10.5 front/back. None of the "filtering" is removable except beneath the psu (just thin metal screening). The filter media (high porous foam) in the case's front is pretty much fixed to the fascia parts, so cleaning is going to be a pain.

I don't know what it is about items shipped from Amazon, but more often than not somewhere along the way someone gets angry with my packages. Luckily this product was packed properly (by CoolerMaster)

Bought this case to build a quad core system for my kid. It is large enough for any interface card and a lot of air flow to cool things down. Also, it is very quiet. Case quality is very good too except the front ESATA port. The internal SATA connector broke due to the case openning not laying up well with it so the connector is forced to tile up when the cable connects to it. Well, I just don't use the ESATA then. Over all, I am satisfied with this case and my kid is very happy with it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Case, October 8, 2009

This review is from: Cooler Master RC-600-KKN1-GP Gladiator 600 Mid Tower ATX Case with 140mm Fan (Black) (Personal Computers)
I love this case. it is very cool looking and has nice features. all of the computer parts fit perfectly although i had to buy an extension for the power supply so that my graphics card could fit(bottom mounted power supply). it is not cheap looking at all. great price with great features and great looks. looks even cooler if you add LED fans on the sides and rear. my only complaint is the instructions that it came with. the instructions were not completely clear on how to remove the front drive bay covers and not so clear on how to remove the expansion slot covers but i was able to figure it out. no big deal. i would highly recommend this case especially because of the price.

Great case, it dropped the processor temp 10 degrees at idle. Just make sure your power supply is long enough since its bottom mounted. I had to buy extension cord to mount it properly.

5.0 out of 5 stars Recommended (See my pictures), February 26, 2011
This review is from: Cooler Master RC-600-KKN1-GP Gladiator 600 Mid Tower ATX Case with 140mm Fan (Black) (Personal Computers)
I just bought it yesterday from Micro Center, a local retailer. This is a replacement of my existing Mid Tower case which was cheap and poor air flow designed.
If you're looking for a budget Mid Tower Case with a nice looking, well designed and quality, this is it. I did spend hours google online and ended up with this one. The other competitive were Thermaltake V3 and V4 which are a bit cheaper but I can see the problem of top fan designed may interfered with memory slots.
Fans (x2) are quite, the case look really nice, there's an on/off switch for blue LED fan in front, the Reset switch could be bigger, fit and finish were good although be careful of sharp edge in some areas (not that bad), you won't need any screws for your peripherals or add on cards to tide them in. There're mesh/grills in the front and bottom for Power supply air flow. Filters pad for front fan mesh and those 5.25" face places. I love the fact that it has five (5) x 5.25" external slots because I will add HDD Hot-Swap or controller panels later. There're room behind Motherboard panel to hide those extra cables that are not used, that design will make it looks even nicer (see pictures). There're 2 LED lights for Power and HDD and they're both bright white color so love it or hate it.
All in all, I love this case. If I can find a CON for it, that will be those feet which are too short, bad for power supply air flow if I put it on the carpet. They should throw in another set of stand-off or feet extender to keep the minimum clearance on the bottom.

My preference is for bottom mounted power supplies so Cooler Master Gladiator 600 passes my initial test for an acceptable computer case. The air flow characteristics are good inside this case, but it does lack a rear mounted exhaust fan. Luckily, that is remedied fairly inexpensively by adding a 120 mm fan to remove the heat. The front mounted 120 mm LED fan adds to the air flow, while lending a bling factor, if you turn on the blue LEDs. The top mounted 140 mm fan makes a nice addition for keeping the case cool when all the chips are firing.

Overall, I like this case, but it does cramp your wiring options by not giving quite enough space behind the motherboard mounting plate, although it does offer more than some other cases. The good part is that you can mount a pretty large CPU cooler without the necessity of making case modifications, or picking a lower profile cooler. With the good selection of CPU coolers, these days, that is a really nice feature.

This kind of case seems to be the new direction for desktop towers, with bottom mounted power supplies and good ventilation properties, integrated into a reasonably priced and fairly attractive case. There are other, potentially better choices, but this one is a pretty good choice. If you can afford a higher priced case, you can find them fairly easily, but this is one of the good cases at a reasonable price. If you want a big CPU cooler and some degree of cable management capabilities, this case should be on your short list. If you have a silver painted power supply, as I did, it's even aesthetically better.
