Customer Questions & Answers

Customer Reviews

Yes, very quiet, was very easy to install, and is keeping the CPU cool.
Mícheál É. Ó Máille
I would recommend this cooler to anyone that wants to start using liquid cooling but doesn't want to spend a fortune.
John Wing
Even at full load, running a game, the temp only gets to 57C at this point.

I bought this to replace the stock AMD fan for my Phenom II 945. Here are my observation after one week

Pro:
Keeps the system 10C cooler than the stock fan. Temperature ranges from 30C-35C
With the fan turned off, it performs as well as the stock fan. Temperature ranges from 40C-45C
Cheap

Con:
At full speed, the fan can be as noisy as the stock fan.
Water hoses are a bit short, but this is a subjective point.
Quick disconnects on the hoses would have been wonderful. My case was a little small, so there was no room to mount it internally. I had to cut a large hole in my case rather than route the hoses through the provided water cooling holes.

Overall, it's a great cooling unit for the price. I wanted it to get a bit warmer to "break in" the arctic silver, but I guess that's a good problem to have.

Update:
After one month, I'm still happy with this cooler. I found a setting in the BIOS to make the automatic fan controller not go nuts until it hits 60C. Things are so quiet now that I have to check the power LED to see if the PC is on, even in the middle of the night. I'm guessing I don't have to worry about the pump as long as the LED indicator on the cooler still glows blue.

Update: 3/24/2014
Fast forward one year. This unit is still serving me well. I've since migrated the setup into a modified XPS720 aluminum case, which adds more sound isolation to the unit. My PC is whisper quiet under my desk. The LED is still showing blue whenever I open the case to check it and to clean out dust. I have it running almost 24/7.

i have always been an air cooled person. reading reviews u can always see air coolers just as efficent as liquid cooling for half the price.... i was previously using a zahlman heatsink and i loved it. had a phenom x4 3.5ghz clocked to 4.0 ghz with the zahlman and at idle it stayed around 35c and under full load would hit 62c, this cooler master seidon is currently hooked up to an fx 6300 clocked at 4.0 ghz and at idle it has not gone above 17c and the higest i have seen at load was 42c. installation was extremely easy on my am3+ board (asus sabertooth r 2.0). amd owners just have to use factory mobo backplate as it normally goes with after market coolers for amd sockets. i do agree with other reviews that u have to push hard but the screws have tension springs on them and considering how hard i have had to push on some of the other 200+ coolers i have installed this one isnt bad at all.

now the only problem i have with this cooler is that the fan that came with the cooler was dead!!! ahhh!!! that sucked and actually took about an hour after the build for me to notice, which is good and bad i guess.... it was an easy fix since i have fans laying around everywhere but if u have no extras it may be something u want to ask for. while the fan was not spinning i was installing windows/updating and running some simple programs and using firefox, at a suprise to me the cpu never went above 35c the whole time.... that has to say something for the quality of this product.

all in all i will without a doubt put this cooler in my next several builds in replacement of air coolers....... i love it and could not be happier

I am extremely happy with this product with one exception.
Pros: easy to assemble, works great, I did not use the included thermal paste i used arctic silver. It was 20 deg C cooler than the last copper heatsink i used so that was sweet.doesnt really take up much more room than a case fan does.....bout twice as thick .

Cons: Only one real con and that's the backplate. When i would screw it down it would go down so far them spring off again.....Iwould have preferred something with a little more positive stopping in that area so i know it is down tight and will stay put. That said i have not had any problems with it popping up and i dont think i will, but it is still a small concern for me.

I would and HAVE recommended this and its bigger version to friends.

Update 11/22: Finally got the rebate...took so long

I recently built a haswell setup with i7-4770K. Because the cpu is quite capable of overclocking, I decide to go with liquid cooling. I had two choices based on the case and other config, H80i and this Sedon 120M. It seems the H80i is more popular but it is also quite more expensive than this cooler. I decide to go with the 120M, the AR price is about half of the H80i.

So far, I like it very much. The installation process is quite easy. The tubes are very flexible and strong as well. There were moments when I worried about breaking the tubes, but they are absolutely not necessary. I am using a pull config. My CPU runs at several degree C higher then RT when idle. On full loading at 4.3 GHz OC, it is about 50 degree C higher than RT. I didn't install the stock cooler, so don't have any comparison, but I am very happy that it is below 80 C at full load.

The noise is audible if you approach the back of the case, otherwise I consider it to be quiet.

I would definitely recommend this product. The last star would be added when I receive the rebate.

PS. The cooler is now working with i7-4770K and Gigabyte Z87X-UD3H. Check out my review on those devices as well.
