I got this power supply for my husbands pc. We got him a new video carded and needed a bigger supply also the fan was going on his old power supply. I LOVE that it has power connectors for video cards you dont have to use the ones that come in the video card box. After everything was said and done I turned on his pc and...I had to check it was even on lol. This power supply is amazing and he loves it to death. My pc is louder then his now and he brags about it haha.

I have been building pcs now for many years.coolermaster in the past has made some so so power supplies.this one however seems to be a very good power supply.the build quality is good.has a heavy heat sink and all rails are within .05 volts of stated voltages.lastly the cooling fan is very quite.cooler master has always made great cpu heatsinks/fans,cases,and case fans now it seems they make good power supplies too.I would put this next to a ocz or antec for build quality anyday.great buy..

This review is from: Cooler Master eXtreme Power Plus 700-Watt Power Supply (RS700-PCAAE3-US) (Personal Computers)
I had a 700 watt Xtreme gear ATX PSU, and damn I can't tell you how happy I am I made the change.
This thing is incredibly QUIET!! And I mean it. very, very, very easy to install. It was my first time and I feel as if I could build a computer now. Which I am planning on. It was fun taking apart my CyberPower PC and putting this in. The only thing I didn't have to take out was the MoBo. I am incredibly happy with this PSU. Supports 24 pin and 20 pin MoBo connectors!

The power supply installed easily, has plenty of plugs for all drives, cd, board, etc. Runs VERY quiet, and I like the extra large fan to keep it cool.
It was delivered on time, and the price is right.

Quiet, but the 4-pin connectors are a royal pain in the neck!,

Nice, quiet, powers what it should, but the 4-pin connectors are like trying to pound a square peg into a round whole. Bad enough I've had to crimp some new female pins on just to get it to connect to anything in the new build. I'm in a hurry to build my niece's new PC I didn't want to mess around w/sending it back and I'm trying to maintain a respectable Xmas budget, so I used some manual effort to get this thing implemented into her new PC fast so I could ship it to her mom. Look elsewhere (Antec) and spend the extra $10 for a better product.

I ordered this powersupply and upon installing it would turn on computer for a second and shut off. Checked it with powersupply tester and found that it was doing the same thing on that too. It was obvious that this powersupply was faulty. I am happy this happened right away and thanks to Amazon.com their return and replacement policy was very easy. Since I was building a comp. as a birthday gift Amazon.com upgraded my shipping to next day air for free. The 2nd powersupply worked flawlessly. Everything connected up just fine and do not have any problems with it. It runs cooler and quieter than my OEM one. I am very pleased with the customer service I received from Amazon.com and the operation experience I have had so far with this item. If any developments occur I will come back to update my review. But as for now I am very happy, I only gave it a 4 star because of the 1st unit I received which does question my faith on the durability of this product, even know I also know that things like this happen and it is best for it to happen at the beginning.

I swapped out a 300W OEM PSU with this unit and I noticed less fan noise immediately. It's very quiet compared to the original PSU. I am planning to add a graphics card in the near future so this is working out quite well so far.

First of all; purchased this product from AMAZON...had the usual all around great buying experience. I have a 7 year old DELL XPS400 desktop. The fans and hard drive were getting noisy, so being a fairly accomplished DIY'er I decided to give a shot at refurbishing the unit by installing a new power supply, heat sink fan, hard drive(Western Digital 500GB, also from AMAZON),and WiFi card. I did my homework on the project, discovering that DELL's OEM 375 watt power supply (BIG $$$) is not proprietary. It can be replaced by a myriad of generic power supplies of at least 375 watts, most of which provide more than enough required connectors. I chose the COOLER MASTER based on price and AMAZON reviews. It matched DELL's mount up perfectly. COOLER MASTER uses a "shotgun" approach with connectors and leads; giving more than you'll probably need, thus making it versatile enough to be used it many applications. Everything plugged in, requiring only a minor rerouting of the SATA power supply cable, which came up a little short on the original route. After install, first time turned on...it worked perfectly. What I consider a plus is the large fan; which not only gives great cooling for the power supply, but provides additional air circulation within the tower enclosure. Gave it a 4 Star, will upgrade that to 5 Star if it's still performing well 6 months from now.

So, I was bummed when I found out I had to buy a PSU just to run my new graphics card. But this one was totally worth it! The price was great, the cables were much better than the one in the PC I was replacing; cable management got 10x better. It is also much quieter than the generic one I took out.

The fan immediately turned much faster and made the unit quite noisy after I connected a new ATI HD 6770 card to the power supply. I guess the fan speed is controlled by the power output rather than the temperature. I also find it a little expensive for such a passive power supply. Actually, the max power output 500W is more than needed, I will sell this one and go for a more quiet 350-400W active power supply.
