I read the reviews about this mattress pad and thought I would really like this item if it really did work. So I purchased one and I must say after using it for a few weeks my bed is no cooler than it was without the pad. I am so disappointed because I thought this pad was going to be the answer to my hot bed problem. If you are considering buying this item I would tell you to forget it! It does not work and $180 for a mattress pad that does no more than cover your mattress is a bit steep! This pad does not do what it claims!! If I could have given it no stars I would have....

Purchased this with hopes of heat relief at night. Out of the box, it felt cool to the touch. And feels cool when you first lay down. But in the night, my husband and I wake very hot. It feels as if we are on a heating pad! Ready to pitch the expensive thing,I sent an email to the company contact link on their website. I got NO response. Unexcuseable in my opinion. So, I called the 800 number on the company website. A lady told me it was only a 30 day warranty, and basically nothing she could do to help. She did suggest I launder it "to release the heat". I thought oh, brother. But, per her instructions, I washed it on warm/cold and dried it on cool/delicate. Next I shook it and hung it in a doorway for a few hours to adjust to room temp. I must also add that our ac thermostat is always set at 70. Next I TRIED to put it on the bed. Altho it fit nicely before, it had shrunk several inches! I LITERALLY pulled a muscle in my neck trying to put it on. Also, I noticed threads in the middle of the quilting that had come undone. Sleeping on it, was absolutely no different. In fact my cats race for my WARM spot when I get up! So, I sent another email to the company, and guess what? No response! I told them I will leave unfavorable reviews wherever I can find to do it.

I had a Tempurapedic that was hot. I changed it for conventional mattress with a slight foam topper and I was happy. But, I like to sleep cool. Living in Florida, that is important.
Happened to see this topper with the 30 day return guarantee, I ordered. [Amazon is amazing with efficiency of returns. Seamless.] Still, while ordering and reading the reviews, I wonder how a thin piece of fabric made of polyester can diffuse heat? Where does the heat go? Has to go down to the mattress. It does not have magic channels that vent heat sideways away from your body. It can not generate coolness either because that takes heat exchangers etc. Like with an AC unit. I think and wonder and finally make the decision to order.
I was excited when it arrived. I could hardly wait to put it o the bed. I did, and that night I got in my bed and indeed it felt nice and cool. Well for minutes. The material is able to take some heat from my body [that's what makes your body interpret cool - removal of heat] but, it has limited heat removal capabilities. It has to transfer the heat from your body to the topper and then to the mattress. Where else is it going to go? Maybe, maybe you get a bit of heat exchange sideways, but, has to be very, very small amount. So, nothing changed except putting this topper on top of my mattress. It transferred heat, but, then when overloaded, made me feel hot. It actually felt hotter than without the pad in the first place. It was not comfortable.
So, as with everything I read the directions. It says to be sure you have the room at 65 degrees. I quote from the directions - "Keep your bedroom temperature at or below 65 degrees." Wait, my room is normally very comfortable at 72 degrees and 65 might double my AC bill. If I turned down the AC to 65, then I would not need the pad and would need a thick comforter. You guys up North may think 65 is beach weather, but in Florida that is freezing for us. I was just on a cruise where room temp was 67 and I had to ask for extra blankets. Yes, could have turned the thermostat higher, but, it was such a unique experience pretending I lived at the North Pole. Plus the white noise of that vent blowing.
I decided that it may help some people with the Tempurahot mattresses. That is not me. My mattress is just fine, and this pad did not work for me. It worked against me. It made me hotter. It may work for your body, mattress, location and room temperature situation.
It will cost you nothing to order, try and you may like it. That is the only way to find out. Don't set your expectations too high. I rated it "2" because I dislike the word hate.
Hope this helps.

It started off cool, but I started sweating in the middle of the night anyways. I would not buy something like this again.

The tag indicates that the product should be washed on gentle cycle and dried on medium. I followed the tag perfectly and the backing of the pad was melted when I pulled it out. When I called the company to tell them I want a refund, she informed me that the packing slip which may or may not have been in the box indicated that i should dry the product on low or medium and they are not responsible for any damages done by the dryer.
Me: So the packing slip that was in the box i got 6 months ago said to dry it on low or medium?
Them: The tag says the same thing as the packing slip.
Me: The tag just says medium which is apparently too hot on some dryers.
Them: Correct. That's why we say we are not responsible for damage done by dryers.
Me: So why doesn't the tag just say low? If you know medium can be too hot? So I don't get a refund?
Them: Unfortunately, you are outside of your 30 day warranty.
Me: So you indicate that the product must be washed and dried before use but you also say you are not responsible for what happens when you follow your own instructions?
After buying a memory foam mattress and sweating to death for a couple of nights, i was willing to do anything to get a good night's sleep. This mattress pad seemed expensive but I tend to be one of those suckers who believed price is directly linked to quality.
It works for the most part, at least for a couple of minutes. After laying there for a while, you are just as warm as you started and have to roll over to a new cool spot. FIND A DIFFERENT PRODUCT ACTUALLY SOLD BY AMAZON. AT LEAST THEY BACK THE PRODUCTS THEY SELL.

I tried this on a pillow-top mattress, and it did in fact feel cool when I first laid down on it. But I woke up in the middle of the night as the product had heated up and was now just as hot or hotter than the uncovered mattress.
I retried it with the A/C thermostat set to 74 degrees per recommendations but that only helped a little.

I was super excited about getting this product. The first night, I could genuinely feel it cooling my bed, but it smelled nasty (even after washing it once). We pulled it off and washed it again and it never again worked. As someone else indicated, it claims you can dry it on medium, but you can not. Once you dry it, it fails to work any longer. Trying to dry this on air fluff takes hours. Basically it was money thrown down the drain.

Yeah, yu can send it back....but no refund for all the shipping costs, so save your money. Do not buy the So Called COOLING mattress cover, pillow cases, etc. They absorb your heat and only feel cool when you first get into bed!!! Very disappointed!!
Recommended by Dr. Oz..... so I did not read any real reviews...just the ones on the web site that are all glowing...Shoulda known better.
I even tried the Chillow pad....feels cool when yu put your head down...but wake up later to a warm pillow. Oh, and they suggest you keep your A/C at 70 degrees...and a Fan going......You do not see that ....until you get the product ....very clever! I f I Keep my house Cold, I will feel Cooler...Amazing !!!!

I bought this mattress pad for our memory foam mattress that seems to store heat the instant you lie down. This was a great relief. When I get into the bed I can feel the heat being wicked away and stay comfortable all night. No more waking up in a pool of sweat. I have friends and family come lie down on my bed so they can feel what I talking about. It is amazing. I am going to buy one for every bed in our house.

As a hot-flashing, covers-on-covers-off, toss-and-turn menopausal insomniac, I ordered this product out of desperation, but knowing that I would 'invoke' the satisfaction guarantee if it didn't provide me with relief. I added the pad to my bed, turned my thermostat to 69 degrees a couple of hours prior to bedtime and slid into bed - and slept through the entire night. I haven't had that build-up of heat under my body or that cycling of inner core temperature feeling from hot to cold since. Period. Now, as I ponder the traveling season upcoming, because I travel frequently for business and recreation, how can I pack it and take it with me? I'd be terrified the airline would lose it if I check it - and it is too critical to my sleep to hand off to the Black Hole of Airline Baggage. I wonder what kinds of glances and looks I'll get when I tote it onto the aircraft with me instead of my overnight bag. I can always find toiletries in the local drugstore, but not this sleep solution. I recommend it - and the satisfaction guarantee will give you peace of mind to try it - you've nothing to lose and a good night's sleep to gain.
