Its a great PSU that is true to its name for being silent. From CPU-Z and bios, the voltages are dead on and I haven't had any issues with its performance. I haven't noticed any heat issues with the unit either. The only thing I do not like about the unit is that its a little longer than a typical PSU and has some fit issues with an Antec P180 case where I cannot fit the cooling fan in the bottom of the case which cools the hard disks down there. Though, that issues is more a problem with the P180 being a tight fit. Would buy again and recommend to other.

The only review on this PSU talks about the packaging and doesn't even talk about the product itself. The power supply is great, quiet, good for overclocking and after looking at four other websites (buy.com, tigerdirect.com, newegg.com, & ebay.com) Amazon has the lowest price so you get the most bang for your buck. The wiring is plenty long to reach everything in a full tower case but that is also sort of the downside to it, there are so many connectors that the wiring takes up quite a bit of room so not great for lower profile cases but there are few PSU's that are.

Power supply was used to upgrade a 500 watt one in a Gateway FX6800-01e. There is plenty of room for this somewhat longer supply with all it's wires. The unit is quiet and has power to spare. OCZ ( PC Power and Cooling) has a winner. Excellent value for a supply that blows by the competition

I bought this power supply for use with a Cooler Master Cosmos ATX 1000 case - (RC-1000-KSN1-GP). The stuff came the next day and I built the system. This power supply has generous cable lengths, which came in handy, since this case is HUGE. I even had enough cable on this power supply to allow a nice job of cable routing. It has all the connectors anyone could ever ask for - a thing of beauty to be sure. The big moment came and I powered it up with eager anticipation.
The only thing I got was the 5V LED on the motherboard. Nothing else, no fans, nothing. The motherboard did not get anywhere near post. I did some multimeter work and verified that the power supply was not putting out 12V. With deep regret, I replaced it with my spare power supply, a 450W cheapo job I got with a bare bones kit awhile back. This power supply has very short cables and very few connector (only ONE SATA connector!) so I could barely get it hooked up to the motherboard in that cavernous case. The system sort of worked, got a few freeze-ups due to voltage fluctuations, and was generally nervous about having that cheapo power supply even in the same room as my motherboard, but it turned out I didn't have to put up with it for long. I emailed my return request to Amazon and got an immediate reply back. They emailed me a shipping label and the RMA so I could return the DOA unit free of charge and they sent the replacement power supply to me overnight, free of charge, without even waiting to receive the returned power supply. The customer service on this issue was prompt, professional, courteous, and generally outstanding in all respects. The replacement power supply was identical to the first except this one works - and how! It is very quiet and all voltages are rock-solid stable regardless of load. It is a perfect match for the Cosmos case and will be the foundation of any system I build in the future for a long time to come. I heartily recommend this power supply to anyone, especially if you buy it from Amazon. I agree that PC Power & Cooling could use much better packaging to ship this outstanding unit, but until they see the light and do that, Amazon's ultra-excellent customer service more than makes up for it. You can buy your stuff from Amazon with the utmost in confidence - their conscientious and customer-centric policies cover many sins on the part of the manufacturers. If I could have put six stars on this, I would have. I am a VERY happy customer.

I purchased this PSU because I was building a new Core i7 920 system with a 4850x2 card that I planned to overclock after a bad street transformer fried my old computer and monitor. I loved the white paper on this unit. One rail, highest quality components. I expected to receive a heavy, industrial strength no-glitz unit from a company that has a reputation as a top tier manufacturer of PSU's. I bought this unit expecting a very high build quality, efficiency, and super clean power output.
Well, I installed the PSU and my new system wouldn't boot. The mobo light came on, but the thing wouldn't turn on. After double checking all the case connectors, and swapping out every other available component, I finally swapped out the PSU (I assumed that it would be good because of the high price and reputation). Well, after hooking in my lower power Antec PSU from my 5 year old PC the machine turned on with no problems... Four hours down the tube, a bunch of unnecessary pulling and bending of the mobo (you always run the risk of damaging something when you open your case), and having no idea which part wasn't working when it's the one that is supposed to be rock solid; well, I had one bad taste in my mouth. Here's the problem with this unit. The packaging. More specifically, the total lack of it. This PSU came with zero, read (NO) padding in the box. The only thing separating the unit from the ground if this thing is dropped is a thin piece of cardboard. Newsflash PC power and cooling: if you are going to build a Ferrari, you might not want to ship it to your customers on a trailer hitch hooked onto the back of a beaten up truck driven by a guy with 4 DUI's! For the love of god, fix your packaging and include some cushion in the box. Heck, at least put a cardboard standoff in there to give a 1/2 inch of play between the PSU and the ground if the thing is dropped (I used to load trucks in my teenage years, and trust me, everything gets jolted during shipping). I hate to do it, but I'm probably going to stick with my old underpowered Antec until some of those 80 plus silver and gold units come on the market in the 500-750 watt range. I'm going to consider other manufacturers until I see these problems addressed in other reviews or on the manufacturer's site. PC power and cooling, if you want to differentiate yourself, this isn't the way to do it...

PC Power & Cooling had for the longest time been one of the best power supply manufactuers in the world. They were the first with many technologies & a true innovator.
Recently they were bought by OCZ & many people wondered if the quality lapsed. I decided to try out this PSU because I have a case with a bottom mounted PSU slot and wanted one with a rear mounted fan for air flow reasons (as opposed to the standard 120mm bottom mounted). The first one arrived DOA, but Amazon was quick to rectify it and send out a new one after I sent the defective unit back. This one has been running perfectly & is remarkably quiet despite having such a small fan. The only thing I would have liked to see different is modular cables, this PSU has A LOT of cables & they're very long (good if you have a big case, troublesome if you don't).

I never think before on buy a PSU for my computer from any brand, i always use generic ones, i pay the price for it, my network card stop working one day, this was after my computer begin to shut down automatic when load playing games. After i replace my old PSU with this one, i run my phenom 9950 at 3 ghz with a K9A2-CF v2 motherboard, 8 gb ram OCZ 6400 and my 2 1 TB seagate hard drive, everything is working perfect. Very silent PSU, the color red looks nice on my Thermaltake Xaser VI mx Case (red with black, with blue led fans) and combine with my ATI card and the motherboard (msi, red motherboard).

This is my 2nd Silencer PSU and 3'rd over all from PC Power and Cooling and once again, their product has exceeded my expectation. I purchased this unit to go in my HTPC and needed a quiet product with a decent amount of juice ( I am powering several 1 TB drives and 1 Nvidia 8800 GTS (312MB, G92 version).
The rails are solid, there is little to no fluctuation and the PSU is extremely quiet. This final feature was the reason for me buying it. Notes, please do some research before buying the device. It is heavier than normal ATX psu's and also it is a little longer. I would not recommend it for cheaper cases without supports as it may warp the holding portion due to the added weight. Also, the cables are NOT detachable and if you have a very tight space, you may be hard-pressed to route the wiring properly for air-flow and aesthetic purposes. My HTPC was a bit of a tight squeeze for me as the primary power cable had to be bent a bit and due to it's thickness, it is not easy to do. All cables are sleeved so the quality shines through for sure. Great product, highly recommended for anyone without otherworldy computer specifications. Recommended for all looking for a QUIET product with a solid reputation and warranty.

Yet another unit recd DOA. I can't understand how a company can make such an excellent psu like this and just place it in a cardboard box without any padding whatsoever, and just ship it out. My psu was recd in the retail box without any kind of cushioning, and then placed in a shipping box with just a couple pcs of bubble wrap on top of the unit. There was no protection on the sides or the bottom of the box. When I opened the shipping box, I noticed a hole on top of the retail box that the psu is packed in. When I opened that box, there was a corresponding chip in the paint on the psu where the hole was. The unit was obviously handled rough in transit. I just do not understand why PC Power and Cooling doesn't seem to take any steps to fix this problem. Instead they choose to ignore it while this excellent psu gets a lot of negative comments over and over again. Hopefully they will fix it one day. Until then, it is Corsair psu's for me.
