5.0 out of 5 stars Still a PC P&C, October 23, 2007
This review is from: PC Power and Cooling S75QB Silencer 750W Quad (Black) power supply, SLI and 80+ Certified (Personal Computers)
OCZ recently bought PC Power & Cooling which was well known for high quality power supplies. This unit is a PCP&C workhorse delivering 750 watts of clean steady power. There is one 12 volt rail that carries 60 amps. The fan is very quiet (but not silent) and the power cables are long enough to cover a full tower computer case. One thing to watch for is that the unit is slightly larger than most ATX power supplies and might pose a problem for small cases. This unit would be great for overclocking and dual video card configurations but is probably overkill for most home systems.

5.0 out of 5 stars PC Power and Cooling pwns all other PSUs!, August 8, 2009
This review is from: PC Power and Cooling S75QB Silencer 750W Quad (Black) power supply, SLI and 80+ Certified (Personal Computers)
Having written PC hardware reviews for over 4 years now, I can honestly say that PC P&C is the Creme de la creme when it comes to Power Supplies that are built with two goals in mind... Performance and Reliability. These PSUs offer that in spades.

A little interesting fact that you should be aware of is that a PC P&C PSUs wattage rating is its lowest, max sustained power rating... In other other words... on a 750W PC P&C, 750W is the minimum power you will have access to under less than optimal conditions. EVERY OTHER PSU MANUFACTURER handles their wattage rating a much different way: Their 750W rating is the PEAK power output under optimal conditions (with the regular power actually delivered under less than optimal conditions being significantly lower. ie. a 750W rated PSU is its max rating and will most likely provide around 650W - 675W normally. Bottom line... PC P&C Wattage rating is a MINIMUM rating and all other PSU Wattage ratings are a MAXIMUM rating. 'nuff said!

During my trips out to E3 and CES to provide coverage at those events, I had many opportunities to speak with marketing reps and engineers from other competing PSU manufacturers and each one, when the topic of PC P&C products were brought up, they all said that PC P&C offers THE superior product in their field which all other companies strive to live up to. PC P&C PSUs are the industry standard for top of the line, PSUs.

Like was mentioned before, the only thing missing from their PSUs that some people cannot live without (if they are not experienced in dealing with hiding wires in a PC for good airflow and presentation) are the modular cables that nearly all other PSU manufacturers offer. PC P&C ignores this borderline-gimmicky feature since introducing modular connectors to the cables increases electrical current resistance, which degrades the overall performance and efficiency of the PSU. Remember... PC P&C focuses on delivery performance and reliability above all else; and that is why, for the past 5+ years, all of the PCs I have built for myself, friends, sponsors, etc. have all had a PC P&C PSU powering it.

The current price of ~$85 for this Silencer 750W PSU is a STEAL! I have had a modified Silencer 750PSU running my main design/gaming machine 24/7 for the past 3 years or so and it has been rock solid! Intel Q6600 running at 2.85GHz, EVGA 680i SLi Motherboard, 4GB PC1000 RAM, EVGA 8800 GTX, x7 hard drives, optical drive, x2 12v water pumps, x6 120mm cooling fans, SoundBlaster X-Fi Extreme Gamer, and more.

PC P&C should ALWAYS be your first choice among PSUs when given the option to choose.

5.0 out of 5 stars Cool PSU.., May 8, 2008
This review is from: PC Power and Cooling S75QB Silencer 750W Quad (Black) power supply, SLI and 80+ Certified (Personal Computers)
This is an excellent PSU. With all the connectors i need and more.

Doesn't make noise. Just a little spinning sound but nothing to worry about.

Great power for a strong machine. (750 W)

I use it for a Core 2 QUAD with 4 GB of memory and 500 GB HD and 256 MB VIdeo Card.

100% Recommended.
