Product Description

Product Description

Enjoy enhanced protection and peace of mind with Cooper Lighting's MAC100W security camera and floodlight system. Ideal for homes, businesses, vacation properties, and anywhere needing extra security, the unit's clever design works two ways to guard against potential intruders. First, its built-in camera device and microphone remain on continuously, capturing a 60-degree radius up to 20 feet away and then transmitting color images and clear audio to an included TV receiver (video signal can also be recorded with purchase of a separate recording device). Featuring modern wireless technology, the camera requires no cable to communicate with the receiver, which means the receiver can be placed in a convenient location for monitoring without the hassles of wiring or electrical cords connected to the main unit. Secondly, the fixture's bright floodlight operates on a 100-watt halogen bulb (included), with a sensing device that automatically turns on upon detecting motion in a 110-degree zone up to 40 feet away. This instantaneous action ensures that prowlers and other uninvited guests receive a clear warning to stay away or be immediately detected. Accompanied by power cords and mounting equipment, the security camera/floodlight system measures approximately 8-1/2 inches wide by 5-1/2 inches deep by 9 inches high and carries a two-year limited warranty.

Comprised of 20 strong brands with 12 manufacturing facilities throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico, Cooper Lighting has enjoyed international industry leadership with a history of excellence since 1956. The company's mission to be the leading provider of innovative, high-quality lighting fixtures and related products drives its line of industrial, commercial, and residential lighting fixtures--everything from LED and fluorescent bulbs to exit and emergency, vandal-resistant, landscape, and complex environment lighting options.

This light and camera work exactly as described. Purchased on Amazon for $78 w/ free shipping. Motion sensor works up to 40-feet, and the 100-watt halogen bulb lights up - just like any other light you'd find at your local home improvement store. Add to it a convenient security camera and you've got a great product.

Pros:
1) Works as advertised.
2) Disregard silver_diamond2007's 1-star "review" and youtube video about interference with wifi. When I e-mailed him whether or not he changed broadcast channels on the unit to avoid interference with his router, his reply was "How do you change channels?" Sigh... All that time to write a negative review and make a youtube video, and no time to READ THE MANUAL to resolve the problem. This light has 4 broadcast channels, which can be changed on the light by removing the rubber cover on the light's bottom side, and moving the switch. I tested it, and channel 2 interfered with my Linksys G router, but channels 1, 3, and 4 had no problems at all.
3) The video does not "washout/whiteout" when it's dark and the floodlight suddenly turns on.
4) The camera also transmits AUDIO.

Cons: (why I removed 1 star)
1) There's no mounting gasket (as other lights have) between the wall and the back of the unit, so the elements can get seep in behind. If you're installing it on a flat surface, it isn't that big a deal, but stucco is a different matter. Either way, I'd put a bead of caulk around the edge to keep the elements out.
2) There's a dial to adjust the sensitivity of the photosensor, but there's no dial to adjust the sensitivity of the motion sensor itself. The instructions say to adjust the position of the motion sensor, but that isn't always an option for your application because you'd be changing the angle of the camera too.

This is the coolest thing I have purchased in a long time. I didn't attach it to the house like instructions say. I attached it to a board, wired a male 3 prong plug onto it, used a hook on the back and now I can put it anywhere an extension cord will reach. I hung it by the Hummingbird feeder, and now I can watch what's going on outside on my TV! At night I can hang it anywhere that I want a security light and camera. I love this thing and am going to order 2 more! I haven't had it very long, (1 wk). If it quits working I will update this review. Have fun folks@:) I'm NoDramaMama_ on Twitter if you want 2 say hi.

I really did like this product, Ideal for security purposes. Did not have a problem but sometimes the image does "roll" but that's normal for a wireless camera, and GREAT audio, could here people talking in my driveway!

This light & security camera works great for my purposes. I am watching and illuminating a small area of my yard. I have to say the microphone can pick up conversations across the street. Great picture straight to the TV. Definitely worth the money.

Rigged unit to an extension cord so I could test from a receptacle.
Light and motion sensor worked fine, but I could not get a signal whatsoever from the camera.

Tried 3 different era TVs, two cathode ray and a newer Sony flatscreen.
Could not have been an issue of light/camera being too far away, as I could test in same room as television and wireless receiver.
Tried all 4 channels on receiver and toggled through the channels on the fixture as described in instructions.
At no point did any of the leds on the receiver light and certainly no signal was viewed over the TV. Two of the tvs had multiple inputs and I tried them all. Chose appropriate source on tv, so I have to conclude the receiver's power adapter was pooched, the camera did not work, or the wireless receiver was faulty.
Returned for credit - really sorry this didn't work for me as the price was right and other reviews are positive.

I've been reseaching security systems for months, was intrigued by this fixture and felt it was worth a try as a low-tech temporary solution. I have a large wooded property secured on 3 sides but my 120-foot long driveway is a magnet for stray dogs, deer, solicitors and recently, a malicious neighbor. I installed one of those great $15 wireless alarms at the street but my home office is upstairs on the back of the house and causes me fits. The alarm chimes, the dogs bark, and I race downstairs to discover it's just the wind or a squirrel.

I put the MAC 100 on a tall pole at my porch to get the best view of the drive and hooked the receiver to an old 10-inch Emerson TV/VCR combo on my desk. Wow. After adjusting the "contrast" and the "sharpness" way up (the bright sun will cause a white reflection off the vegetation) I was amazed at the reception. The camera covers about a 30-foot arc from right to left at the pole and I can actually make out my neighbors' cars and the mailman passing on the street. There is no way anyone or anything can sneak in without me seeing it.

I had hoped to find a model that had all the features - the SD card and the audio warning - but this will solve my real-time viewing issue for now. If I leave the house I can turn on the recorder to tape the driveway or preset it to certain time values. Could probably catch some good wildlife footage. I can also move the receiver to another TV downstairs to enable viewing from the bedroom at night.

The really cool thing is the microphone. With the house A/C running I feel cut off from the outside. Today we had heavy rain and it was a blast to hear the rain falling, the frogs chirping and the birds singing on the monitor.
