5.0 out of 5 stars very nice
Was surprised that this was the only motion detector light with a cord that I could buy ANYWHERE. Bought 2 and am happy with them - work as advertised - cord is a tad short, but other than that very good item.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great idea, needs some design revisions
Very easy to install, could use a gap in case you would like to sink the cord. The controls for timing and lighting are terrible--it seems like one end MAY (MAY!) have a small arrow--but one can not be sure so it is a crap shoot when you try to set the timings. The "directions" are useless. Once you get done the guessing games it is a great product, just expect to spend a few more hours setting and testing out different settings than you expect to. We set up three units with three different settings to get the same result, by the way. Now I love them though i did photograph each setting for future reference :)

5.0 out of 5 stars I was robbed!, March 1, 2011

Several weeks ago my vehicle was ransacked in my own driveway during the night. They got everything from jumper cables to in-dash CD player. One of the first things I did the next day was to get on the internet to find a motion sensor security light. The only light I could find that didn't require hardwire installation by an electrician was the Cooper MS100PG. After checking out it's specs, I ordered it. When it arrived a week later I installed it on the front of my garage- easily slipping the power cord between the wood siding above the door and screwing the light to the center post above the garage door springs. I did need it to go further than the 8' cord provided , so I found a grounded extension cord the same size and gauge of wire to get to the power outlet inside the garage. After running the wire across and down to the outlet, I wrapped the connection to the extension cord in electrical tape. I followed directions as to setting and placement and from that evening on I've had a dependable light that goes on every time something comes within range. I highly recommend The Cooper MS 100PG- it was exactly what i was looking for

4.0 out of 5 stars Motion Sensor 100 Watt Halogen Bulb, - E-Z plug in installation, October 29, 2010

The Motion Sensor 100 Watt Halogen unit has its own plug-in, 8 foot cord, triple wired, and can be extended with the same type extension cord. The two bottom small adjusting switches; 1) length of time light stays on; and 2) the darkness light level setting for triggering the motion sensor, have to be carefully adjusted. Knowing these factors, makes this item a good price buy, for providing motion detection around your home, garage, farm or barn. I have used these direct plug-in a/c, lamps, and would recommend same. Either critters or Deer were eating my flowers at night.
Since I installed the Cooper Light, problem solved. My flowers are flourishing.
The light is easy to install and works well.
The only down side is it has to be reset after a power failure

This is exactly what I was needing. There was plenty of Electrical cord to place it where I wanted to mount the light. The screws were not what was needed to mount it, but that is an easy and very cheap fix. It adjusted to the settings great. I will be purchasing another for another area once we coplete the project. I lke the idea of moveability too!

My handyman installed this on the outside of my house and I paid him to do so. My son had to completely re-install it when it did not work. This only works when I stand in front of it, jump up and wave my arms...and even then, I am lucky to be recognized as a moving object. It has to be unplugged and reset every time there is a blink in power and then it is undependable. You be the judge.

These are very limited for providing the motion detector to activate. Made cheaply---spend more money and have a motion detector installed in the area you need the security to provide consistent coverage for that area of your house. I finally took one off my house when it failed to work 99% of the time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Beware this is not the real security/flood light solution, June 1, 2009
This review is from: Cooper Lighting MS100PG 110 Degree 100W Portable Plug-in Motion Security Floodlight, Gray (Tools & Home Improvement)
As others state it is easy to install. the catch is the cord which helps avoid running a new hardwired electrical line. My issue is it suggest not placing the light over 9-feet high. I did not note that on the package before I bought it. I initially placed mine about 12-feet and the motion detectors did not pick up squat. I lowered mine to about 8-feet, still no motion detection. It only picks me up when i'm 2 feet away on the ladder installing it. I'm going to play with it one more time, if i can't figure out the motion sensitivity it's going back! As someone else posted the instruction are worthless.
