Book Description

June 1995 1895131146 978-1895131147
This book offers practical guidance on how to plan, set up, and run cooperative education programs in community colleges and high schools in cooperation with business and industry. It presents the philosophy, the procedures, the pitfalls and how to avoid them, and, of course, the benefits of such programs. Written in straightforward, accessible language, it includes many actual, real-life examples to clarify all issues.

Developing linkages, selecting worksites, apprenticeships, clinicals, mentoring and volunteerism, tech prep programs, and the evaluation of programs are among the many topics considered.

Coooperative Education highlights what works and why for anyone interested in initiating or involved in administering cooperative education and experiential learning programs.
