We have a family poker game pretty regularly and I've been supplying all the cards. We go through decks like socks so it gets expensive. I finally decided to give the plastic playing cards a try. They are expensive compared to regular decks but in the long run, I think they are well worth the money.

This set comes in a nice black plastic tray with a lid and two decks inside (blue and red). The first thing I noticed is that the cards feel much thinner than what we're used to. However, they are very easy to shuffle and handle. After a few months of use I'm happy to say that I will NOT be switching back to regular cards! These plastic decks have held up great. They don't show any signs of wear yet, and no marks or bends so far.

It took some getting used to but now everyone likes them. The hardest part was getting used to the thinner feel of the cards. However, once you get past that, you really appreciate how nice they are to play with. Other than that, these cards are great and the price is right (~15 bucks for 2 decks). That is almost 5 bucks less than comparable decks from KEM and others.

I highly recommend these cards if you haven't switched to plastic cards yet, they are worth every penny!

UPDATE June 2011: Still using these cards and they have held up great. Our game is twice a month lately but these cards are used every time. It didn't take long for everyone to get used to these cards and I haven't bought a regular deck since I got them. In fact, I bought another set of these in black and gold so we can play on two tables now. You may find that a card can get a fold or bend in it if someone abuses it. I've had this happen, but not too bad. The cards will actually straighten out over time.

The quality and durability of these cards is great. I have had several decks for a couple years and they have held up well under a decent amount of usage. I've also tried Kem plastic cards, but liked these more as they are less expensive and of equal quality.

These poker cards are fantastic. They aren't too slippery and hold up for a very very long time. I strongly suggest getting a deck or two for you nightly/weekly poker/bridge/euchre games!

Plain and simple, if you play poker on any regular basis, plastic playing cards are the ONLY way to go. You will not be sorry. A person who isn't an expert shuffler can ruin a nice deck of paper cards in about 10 seconds and a player who is too rough with them can ruin them faster. No matter how good of a shuffler you are or how careful the players are, paper decks just don't last. They get dirty, grimy and they start to bend. Copags are the answer.

I host a weekly poker game at my house and for the last 6 years we've been playing with Copags and they are hands down the best money we spend. Even guys who are rough on the cards or don't know how to shuffle well don't tear them up. We play for about 3-4 months with each set and then replace them. They would last much longer and are still in good condition but for the great price and feel, we just replace them anyway. It's still tons cheaper than buying 1-2 decks of paper cards every week when they get bent up.

Plastic cards take a bit to get used to because they shuffle so differently than paper cards. They actually shuffle easier and smoother so they require less force to shuffle. This takes a minute or two to get used to but once you master it, you will throw rocks at paper cards!

I host several poker events during the year and decided to get better cards. Copag makes very good poker cards. I ordered the Poker size with Jumbo index in January 2011 and since then have done just over 30 poker games, so with 2 years on these cards here are my observations. 1st, it goes without saying that if you get someone who puts a fold in a card it doesnt matter how good your cards are, its going to show; that being said, these cards are relatively hard to fold and dont show bending as bad as most other cards. 2nd, probably due to storage conditions, the blue dye started bleeding out onto the other cards after about a year. They were not put away wet or dirty so our theory is that it is temperature and/or humidity related since this happened over the summer months and wasnt a gradual bleed. overall i will give these 4.5 stars which i rounded up to 5, .5 off instead of 1 only because the dye bleeding was probably a storage issue.

Have used Copag plastic cards for years. Do 2 (4) hour poker nights a month and these will last for years. If they get dirty just wash them. When they start to wear out (hold a bend) do a HOT water wash and order a new set. The hot water wash will straighten them out for a couple more uses. Break or bend a card, send in for warranty and they will send you a replacement card (instructions on a card in each deck). Poker size are the larger of the 2 sizes. If you like the smaller ones get the Bridge size cards. Prices here comparable to direct quantity purchase especially if you have prime for the free shipping.
