UPDATE on JAN 27th, 2012:
I've used my Copco cup DAILY now for 22 months. No kidding! How the the 1-star rated folks managed to crack their lids or that they complain about leaks is beyond logic. I don't see how either is possible. Perhaps they microwave the lid. That would destroy the rubber seal eventually.

UPDATE on NOV 15th, 2010:
I've now used this cup EVERY single day since I bought it and I only have one complaint: the temperature drops faster than I would expect - too cold to drink after 20 minutes or less. Although I'm disappointed, I continue using the cup anyway. It's fine for your desk or a short trip to the office. Also, the cup does stain rather easy - just drop an Alka-Seltzer in it and let it soak for 6 or more hours.
---------------------------
MSRP: $7.99

- I came across this Copco cup while out shopping, looked it over and thought "wow, this is perfect for me". Although I own several costlier double-insulated stainless steel cups, they have one problem ... you can't reheat your coffee in the microwave. This Copco cup solves that problem.

- You'd think this was a Styrofoam cup - until you pick it up. It's very well made, solid & sturdy, and has a twist-on lid with a rubber seal. Surprising to learn: double-insulation! It's top dishwasher safe although I hand-wash mine. The dark rubberized brown band makes it non-slip. It's microwavable but I recommend: remove the lid so you don't shorten the life of the rubber seal.

The only improvement I could suggest: Add a swiveled rubber plug for the lid hole - just like what a typical to-go cup has. (stay hot longer). I highly recommend this Copco cup, sent one to my picky brother, and will buy an extra spare for myself.

Cheers,
Jeff

I bought two of these Copco Cups. Excellent design and the seal is quite good. I never had a drinking disaster in my car.

Ok. I've used this five times a week with Hot Coffee brewed at home. Initially I noticed no taste of plastic or smell. Since then, about three months later, I now notice a plastic smell and a taste that has infused into the coffee. I think it is a good product, but I think a ceramic mug may be better here. I would keep the design exactly the same but use ceramic for the body and perhaps the same plastic top with the same seal. Ceramic never has any taste.

It is close, but not perfect for me.

I just received this as an Easter gift and had to come rave about it. This is my new favorite travel mug. Like other reviewers have said, it doesn't have a plastic smell, which is a big plus. The cap twists on tightly and has an inside rubber seal to prevent leakage. Surprisingly, even though the inside is white, it hasn't become stained by my coffee (I've used it for 3 days and haven't run through the dishwasher, just rinsed in the sink). The grip is comfortable. It keeps my coffee warm for hours and doesn't become too hot to hold, like many other travel mugs. Plus, it is the right size to fit in a car cupholder.

I recommend this! Plus, if you buy one in pink, some of the proceeds are donated to the Breast Cancer Foundation.

I would have given five stars if they made it with a cap to cover the openning. I'm usually carrying two bags and the cup and some spills out the openning. I love the color and that it is not too wide to hold. It's easy to clean and microwavable . . . I just take the cap off first. Price is awesome. Just waiting for Copco to make one with a cap for the openning and I will buy again (I'll give the one I have now to my husband b/c he keeps eyeing this one!!).

I really like this mug. I have had many before, but this one is by far the best. The only thing to remember is that the brown sleve comes off and I find that I have to take it off to wash it, or it gets a mildewy smell from water just sitting underneath it. Besides that, Great cup. Oh, and it has a really good gasket system, so when the lid is on there will be no drips from the threads.

Update: I have been using a combination of 3 of these for 3 years now and still love them. They work great and are very durable. I dropped one on the lid and the lid cracked, but besides that I am very happy with the purchase and would absolutely buy them again, if I ever need to.

This is my everyday, in-the-car coffee mug. It's simple and functional. The top doesn't have a closure mechanism, so you need to be careful like you would with a drink you had in a disposable coffee cup. That's the appeal to me - the design of the lid has a raised drinking hole. This actually makes it less likely for spillage when I'm drinking and driving ;-) It's easy to clean. I tried one of the ceramic ones - broke the first week when I dropped it. This one is lightweight and durable - I've dropped it several times without any damage - and I've used it for several months now and have had no leakage problems from the lid gasket.

There is one problem with this cup that almost made me return it -- the brown plastic that wraps around the outside of the cup. I'm not sure why, but there is a powerful odor that comes from the brown plastic, that just won't seem to come out. I even tried rubbing it with baking soda to see if it might go away, but no dice. Luckily, the wrap is removable, so now I just have a plain white cup that carries no funny smells to it.

Barring the initial problem with the wrap, I actually quite love this cup, and use it all the time, for either hot tea or cold drinks. As scrubbing is bad for plastic, I just rinse it with hot water after every use, and every so often I drop an effervescent denture tablet in it with some warm water to remove any tea stains that build up. I also quite like that the lid has no fancy moving parts that I have to dismantle and wash separately. Very easy to take care of! I'm even thinking about ordering another one or two for some family members.

I love that this cup is SIMPLE. It does what it is supposed to do. I have used my cup for over 7 months now and so far I love it. I have used it basically everyday since then. During the winter months I carry it around on & off for most of the day with a hot beverage. I am not incredibly picky about my drink staying super hot so I do not really notice how well it retains heat for a long period of time. I love that it is a good size.. it fits in cup holders, and it holds more than enough beverage to keep me happy for awhile. I have not had any issues with leaking. You do have to get the lid on correctly like with any cup, but I have not had any problems with it. I mostly wash mine by hand, but it has been through the dishwasher on several occasions as well with no adverse effects. There is a thin o-ring around the top of the mug to make the seal, and recently I noticed it had shifted, but I just put it back in place and it hasn't moved since or caused any issues. FOR THE PRICE and the fact that this is reusable (and saving me tons of money over buying drinks at the local coffee shop), I couldn't be happier!!!!!! (in fact, i just went out and got the "cold" version for summertime and have used it everyday as well)

We were looking for a solution that works long term. We wanted something that would not leak, we can take in the car. Wanted something easy to manage, easy to wash. Wanted something that looked clean / simple and would work long term.

Well got it right, except the long term part.

Pros

>Nice looking
>Clean lines
>Feels great
>Keeps things hot/cold.

Cons
>Stains
>Picks up beverage smell, even after dishwasher (tea / coffee)
>Lid holds lip stick stains from wife
>Rubber seal stretches and comes out, won't go back in...
>Lid stops locking after about 2-months
>Leaks after about 1-2 months (slow leaks)

Well back to looking again.. thought we cold get a year or two out of a set of 4, but does not look like it will work.
