5.0 out of 5 stars Great little coffee pot
This product was purchased following the loss of power due to an ice storm in our region. I had no way of making coffee. I do not like instant. Now since receiving this stovetop percolator, I use it as often as my drip coffee maker. There is nothing like the smell of fresh percolated coffee on the gas stove to awaken the senses in the morning. I highly recommend this...

1.0 out of 5 stars Stove Top Dissapointment
I have used this type of stove top coffee pot for years, and had my old one for probably eight years or so.
When I found this one I was happy to know I could continue to brew coffee atop the stove, my favorite.
This coffee pot was a dissapointment. As soon as I took it out of the box I noticed the handle was a bit loose. Within a couple of weeks, the handle...

Within a couple of weeks, the handle broke off. It was if it had been glued to the pot, as there was no hole into the pot where the handle was. The coffee pot is pretty much useless now, a big dissapointment.
I hate to write bad reviews, but felt it only fair to tell the truth about my experience.
Quite possibly, I received a defective pot and it is a chance thing.
I will not order any more though on line.

5.0 out of 5 stars Simple and Sweet, February 15, 2009
This review is from: Copco Brushed 4 to 8-Cup Stainless Steel Stovetop Percolator (Kitchen)
I am a coffee 'snob' and have owned many very fancy coffee makers. Unfortunately, the fancier they are, the more things just go wrong.
This Copco perculator is Very Simple in structure and Very simple to use...
I like strong coffee so:
1. I fill it up to just below the spout hole with healthy spring water
2. I add 3 heaping scoops (approx. 3 heaping TBSP) organic dark bean coarsly ground coffee
3. I let it perk for about 10 minutes (timing based on strength preference)
4. All Done! Excellent HOT coffee!

Clean-up is easy. I place all parts except the plastic 'knob', that easily twists off the lid, and the black sealer, into the dishwasher.
By not subjecting these parts to the hot dishwasher water,it is unlikely for leaks to occur.

Like most things in life...'simple is usually most sweet'!

I was looking to get another one of these and happily found them here on Amazon.com. This is the greatest little perk pot and it makes cafe-grade coffee. Also, you can take it apart and clean every inch of it, not like the innards of a auto-drip. Also, you use less coffee and don't need to buy filers, so it's economical. I've been using my previous one for 10 years with no problems. I'm going to get another for a friend of mine.

I have been very pleased with my minor investment .It reminds me of being at my Grandmother's house when I was a little boy. The aroma of the Java and it peculating is a wonderful sense memory. An excellent purchase for 20 dollars. Though another site would have waived the shipping fee. No biggie it came to 26 dollars total!! coffee is on .. join me in my tiny studio for hot or iced Joe. This product is excellent and lower priced than similiar items in catalogues. You can put it in the dishwasher--every piece and it makes great coffee.

Received this coffee pot in December and the bottom has rusted out and it will no longer hold water. We set full of water on the stove ready to turn on in the morning and it was empty when we tried to make coffee in the morning.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not that great, September 21, 2011
This review is from: Copco Brushed 4 to 8-Cup Stainless Steel Stovetop Percolator (Kitchen)
I had problems with mine. The edge of the pour spout is sharp, and I cut myself while washing it the very first time out of the box.

Also the percolator dome (the part that rests on the bottom of the pot, with the chimney attached to it) is poorly designed. Instead of being dome-shaped, it has a flat top which sags a little so the intake hole ends up being slightly higher than the base of the chimney. Whoever designed this must have been unclear on the physics that makes a percolator work. In this pot, water will boil in the bottom section of the pot but not squirt up the chimney into the top like it is supposed to, because the poorly-placed intake hole allows pressure to vent out of the dome. Really lousy functionality there.

And there's this: The lip of the pot, where the lid fits in, is rolled INWARD, meaning that a tiny amount of liquid will _always_ be trapped inside the pot - making it difficult to clean.

The plastic knob is cheaply made. It looks tacky and it gets loose very quickly. I ended up having to replace it with a glass one, not long before giving up on this pot altogether.

All in all, this is a poorly designed percolator and I can't recommend it. You CAN brew coffee with it, but there are other pots in the price range which are less frustrating to use.

Gave it to my husband for christmas, and he loves it. Hard to find a stovetop percolator in stores. This is a good price, good size, and attractive.
