Long lasting thermal insulation, but a problem with the lid.
It keeps the liquid inside at the proper temperature (either hot or cold, whatever started) for a long time. But its odd shape means that you have to lift this thing very high at the fulcrum. Not easy with one hand. Also the lid will hold about a teaspoon of liquid that will spill out if tilted or moved. Just make sure you empty this in a controlled enviornment before...

even the outside heats up
Considering that even the outside of the carafe heats up when you add hot liquid, it clearly has almost zero insulating effect. A waste of money.

I am a bit concerned with the glass interior as it is not specified as thermal shock resistant, and it asks you to pour hot or cold water in prior to the actual beverage to heat or cool the glass, and to do this for 5 minutes. But, the glass will change temperature in 5 minutes, how do i know that it wont suck all the heat from my beverage like that?
Overall, a great product, i am very happy with it.

I sadly broke my first one, but ordered another, both were from Amazon. The outside of mine does NOT get hot, and is going strong. I always preferred the glass vacuum bottles to stainless, as the stainless, such as Stanley bottles, only keep coffee warm about half as long. This is a good product, highly recommended. |
