BPA Free Tumbler,
By discooby "discooby" (las vegas, nv United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
I've been using this cup everyday for the past two months and I love it! I used to just recycle sports drink bottles but no more (BPA's!!!). I also notice that I drink a lot more (green ice-tea) when using a straw and therefore am keeping well hydrated.
Pluses: *It's BPA (bisphenol A) free... this is a chemical found in a lot of plastics that leach out and is a possible link to cardiovascular disease and diabetes among other things. *It's dishwasher safe *Does not sweat and leave rings on desks and tables (at least it doesn't for me) *Keeps iced drinks cold for around an hour *Reusable straw and cup means less landfill and more recycling *Bottom of straw is "winged" which makes stirring drinks easier *Well made *Insulated band around the center prevents "Hand-Freeze" when holding *It looks good Minuses: *Is not microwavable (not a concern for me since I never microwave plastics!) *Is not for use with hot drinks/liquids (also not a concern for me, I don't drink coffee with a straw) The biggest problem I have is getting the lid to seal tight. It takes a little effort to get the threads just right... if its not on properly, the lid will leak. This is my reason for subtracting 1 star. Other than that, it is well made and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again! I haven't used the Starbucks version so I can't compare the two, but I also can't believe it's any better... and for the price this is one great tumbler! I wish they would make a 64oz...lol!

Great product!,

This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
Great travel cup for cold beverages! I am so glad that I found this cup, I was coveting my sisters Starbucks cup that is very similar, but about $5 more. The plastic of the cup is double insulated and straw is thick plastic and high quality; the lid screws on and seals tightly - no problems with spills!
I use the cup every morning for my iced tea and with my previous cups, I had trouble with them because they would "sweat" and leave rings on my desk. I do not have that problem with this cup! It does not sweat and leave rings - I love it! I believe it is because of the thick plastic that keeps the beverage well insulated. Or, it's because I suck down my iced tea so fast that I don't give it a chance! I noticed that other reviews have stated that their cups do sweat, but I can leave liquid in my cup for an hour (it doesn't last longer than that) without sweating. This cup is highly recommended! ETA: I was given two Starbucks cups; one in both sizes. However, both my husband and I prefer these Copco cups to the Starbucks ones. I love that it is 24 oz, compared to 16oz and 20oz comparatively for the SB cups. I will be buying the other colors that Amazon now offers! These cups are not really insulated,
By
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
The cup is sturdy enough. The lid fits well, though by the manufacturer's own notes, it can leak if turned on its side. I like that it holds 24 oz.
What annoys me is that the cup is not insulated. There is no double wall and no complete outer cover. There is a rubberized band across the middle for you to grab the cup by. This cup sweats when you put an iced drink in it. There is nothing actually on the cup or its packaging that makes the claim that it is insulated. It only appears on the selling page. For the $12.99 price tag, the cup ought to be insulated, or at least the description could be more honest.
