BPA Free Tumbler,

This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
I've been using this cup everyday for the past two months and I love it! I used to just recycle sports drink bottles but no more (BPA's!!!). I also notice that I drink a lot more (green ice-tea) when using a straw and therefore am keeping well hydrated.
Pluses: *It's BPA (bisphenol A) free... this is a chemical found in a lot of plastics that leach out and is a possible link to cardiovascular disease and diabetes among other things. *It's dishwasher safe *Does not sweat and leave rings on desks and tables (at least it doesn't for me) *Keeps iced drinks cold for around an hour *Reusable straw and cup means less landfill and more recycling *Bottom of straw is "winged" which makes stirring drinks easier *Well made *Insulated band around the center prevents "Hand-Freeze" when holding *It looks good Minuses: *Is not microwavable (not a concern for me since I never microwave plastics!) *Is not for use with hot drinks/liquids (also not a concern for me, I don't drink coffee with a straw) The biggest problem I have is getting the lid to seal tight. It takes a little effort to get the threads just right... if its not on properly, the lid will leak. This is my reason for subtracting 1 star. Other than that, it is well made and I wouldn't hesitate to buy this again! I haven't used the Starbucks version so I can't compare the two, but I also can't believe it's any better... and for the price this is one great tumbler! I wish they would make a 64oz...lol!

Great product!,

Great travel cup for cold beverages! I am so glad that I found this cup, I was coveting my sisters Starbucks cup that is very similar, but about $5 more. The plastic of the cup is double insulated and straw is thick plastic and high quality; the lid screws on and seals tightly - no problems with spills!
I use the cup every morning for my iced tea and with my previous cups, I had trouble with them because they would "sweat" and leave rings on my desk. I do not have that problem with this cup! It does not sweat and leave rings - I love it! I believe it is because of the thick plastic that keeps the beverage well insulated. Or, it's because I suck down my iced tea so fast that I don't give it a chance! I noticed that other reviews have stated that their cups do sweat, but I can leave liquid in my cup for an hour (it doesn't last longer than that) without sweating. This cup is highly recommended! ETA: I was given two Starbucks cups; one in both sizes. However, both my husband and I prefer these Copco cups to the Starbucks ones. I love that it is 24 oz, compared to 16oz and 20oz comparatively for the SB cups. I will be buying the other colors that Amazon now offers! These cups are not really insulated,

The cup is sturdy enough. The lid fits well, though by the manufacturer's own notes, it can leak if turned on its side. I like that it holds 24 oz.
What annoys me is that the cup is not insulated. There is no double wall and no complete outer cover. There is a rubberized band across the middle for you to grab the cup by. This cup sweats when you put an iced drink in it. There is nothing actually on the cup or its packaging that makes the claim that it is insulated. It only appears on the selling page. For the $12.99 price tag, the cup ought to be insulated, or at least the description could be more honest.

Awesome design, a little leaky.,

Bought this cup because I never drink enough without a straw! I love the to-go cup design and it keeps things nice and cold. I was looking for a "water bottle" that I could take juice and iced coffee in without wrecking the mechanisms. This one is "mechanism" free! The only problem I have had is that it leaks around the rim when the liquid sloshes around. Aside from that, I love it.

Useful and Convenient To-Go Cup of Excellent Quality,
By
This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
I must warn you, I tend to be VERY thorough in my reviews so this will undoubtedly be a long one - but if you appreciate reviewers who take their time and make sure to cover all the bases, read on!
I'm a recent convert to the reuseable, "to-go" beverage container world. I started off with purchasing a random cheap plastic tumbler from a Big Box grocery superstore, but it was of subpar quality and lacked a straw. It was getting the job done though, so replacing it with a superior model wasn't a priority. However, while shopping with my boyfriend (sipping on a drink from the above mentioned cup, incidentally) I stumbled upon a display of these Cupco tumblers on sale for $4.49. Deciding an upgrade was in order, I chose the purple while my boyfriend grabbed an orange one. I immediately fell in love with this tumbler, as did my boyfriend. The plastic is quite thick and solid-feeling (but not heavy by any means) and definitely won't crack from normal use. The silicone sleeve is perhaps my favorite feature - no matter how cold the drink is, my hand won't be! Even the "winged" straw is a nice design feature. You can't remove the straw without also removing the lid, so you don't have to worry about losing it. Some of the more negative reviews of this item have criticized the lid for warping, cracking, etc. After owning and using this cup, it's clear to me that many of these reviewers are likely failing to mention their own responsibility in the lid's performance. Yes, if you twist the lid on super tight there is a chance it will crack. Yes, if you wash it in your dishwasher's bottom rack, it will likely melt and become unusable. Just had to mention that as it seems to be a common yet irrelevant criticism. If you take good care of your possessions, then you may as well disregard those complaints. One more thing I want to mention - when I screwed the lid on for the first time, I realized that in order for it to seal, you have to make sure the threads are properly lined up. With some twist-on lids you can apply lots of pressure while you're screwing it on and it will still go on okay, but not this one. If you're having difficulty, just gently twist the lid as it first touches the cup. Twist lightly without forcing it and it will swivel on just fine. This is why the lid (if put on correctly) is leak-proof! The plastic is thick, like I've mentioned, so it's highly unlikely it will ever break or crack unless you're rough with it. I'm actually really picky about the quality of merchandise in stores these days (most of it disposable, cheap garbage) so I really geek out when I come across quality products. There are undoubtedly many tumblers of comparable quality out there to this one, but I doubt you'll find many with a similarly wallet-friendly price tag (mine was a steal at $4.50, but even the regular $6 price is very reasonable!). [Also, this product is BPA-FREE, which is essential when it comes to reusable plastic-anything!]

lots and lots of condensation!,
This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
I like the design of this cup and appreciate the benefit of a re-usable cup over disposable cups, but I find that this Copco cup "sweats" like crazy! Moreso than dispoable plastic or paper cups and also more than other re-usable cups I've tried (they are not marked with the brand name, or I would recommend them). I use cups like this primarily at my workplace, at my desk. I have stopped using this Copco cup because of all the condensation. Every time I take a drink, it drips lots of condensation on my desk. I even have one of those stoneware coasters that is effective in reducing/eliminating this problem with other beverage-ware, but not my Copco cup - because the condensation ("cup sweat") is so voluminous.
I still like it for the car, or walking around the town on errands, etc (the condensation doesn't cause the "gripping" problems for me that another reviewer mentioned) - but I have banned this cup from my office space! If you are looking for a condensation-free re-usable cup this is not the one for you.

Perfect reusable tumbler,
By
This review is from: Copco Sierra 24-Ounce Cold Tumbler, Brown (Kitchen)
There's a lot to like about this little cup. For a cheap, reusable, reliable way to handle cold drinks (particularly during the workday) you can't do much better. And the price, as of writing, is very attractive as well.
It's made of high-quality plastic, BPA free and top rack diswasher safe. The cup can be gotten in several colors, with "sierra" (aka brown) being the most understated. Most of the other colors, such as green and pink, are a bit too flashy and neon for my tastes. With the sierra cup I can carry my water around all day, and nobody has to be annoyed as they might be if I were packing around a day-glo Nalgene bottle as seems to be the trend. The 24-ounce capacity is great for most packaged drink mixes, and is more than sufficient for general use. The top of the cup screws on fairly securely, but I wouldn't expect it to resist any major falls, and it's not quite water-tight. The straw hole is not waterproofed in any way, so you can get some distinct leakage there. This is all fine for casual use, and only deserves mention because I wouldn't trust it around college textbooks or laptops any more than I would an open cup. It's spill-resistant, not spill-proof. The straw is a slight innovation. It's build very well, with hardly any flex. This part can definitely be reused. The end of the straw has a set of four-way stirring fins, making this cup a perfect fit for powdered drink mixes and the like. Speaking of mixing, I've found it can be easier to just pull the straw out momentarily and shake the cup with a thumb covering the straw hole. There's less leakage, and the straw pops back in easily enough. The stirrer on the straw is non-removable, so you do have to open the cup to remove the straw, but then again the straw can never fall completely out. The whole setup is quite durable. I've been using mine for a week straight, and I don't think there's a single sign of use. The threads on the cap run right up to a thin rubber seal, so this bit can be a little hard to clean by hand, but of course the cup is perfectly safe in the top rack of the dishwasher. The cup's middle plastic band even feels slightly rubberized, so you always have a good grip. If you're looking for a reusable cup to keep cold drinks handy for perhaps a college dorm or workplace, you've found your perfect solution. The only flaw I could imagine is that it doesn't travel well, due both to its shape and not being fully water-tight. For everday use, and for the critically important task of making sure you drink enough water during the day, this is a perfect little product that I'd happily reccomend to anyone.

So me and DH are trying to save some money and trying to tear myself away from Dunkin Donuts every day like two or 3 times lol. I bought a cheap coffee pot, and decided to make my own ice coffee at home. This cup is PERFECT!!! yes, it has a little condensation, but of course it does! if its hot outside and you have ice and a cold beverage in a cup of course its going to sweat!! BUT its not bad... disposable plastic cups sweat WAY MORE than this does. If it bothers you that much put a coozie on it!
these are great!

It's NOT insulated.,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Don't let the title fool you. I ordered this glass because it said it was insulated. It's not, it's just the regular plastic glass, no insulation whatsoever is involved. So if you are looking for an insulated glass, skip this one. The title is clearly misleading and I resent the sellers for that and will be leary to order anything from them again.

I am in LOVE with this cup!,

Is that a little strongly worded? What can I say - this is like the best cup ever. It is totally fun to drink out of a "take-out" cup all the time! The straw is comfortable to drink from, the cup is strong, and the grip is very convenient. I practically want to buy one for all my friends - everyone is like "ooooh, cool cup..."
