5.0 out of 5 stars Great Kettle
Bought this at a local discount retailer. I've had lots of kettles over the years and most I have been dissatisfied with for one reason or another. I am very pleased with my Stainless Steel Copco Torino. The handle does not get hot. It has a steam guard, so you don't get burned. I love the way it pours. The whistle works just great on mine and is the perfect volume...

1.0 out of 5 stars Ouch! Steam, Hot!!
The prior reviews are on target. Just adding emphasis here.
This product is a booby-trap.
You will need an oven mitt to pour your tea water. Otherwise you will be scalded with the steam. Period.
Trust me, the beauty of this product drops precipitously with each use.
Save yourself!!

3.0 out of 5 stars Copco Torino looks great but doesn't deliver, March 27, 2005

Not wanting an ordinary teakettle, we were drawn to the Copco Torino because of the graceful simplicity of its visual design. For that, I think it deserves an award. But in everday use we've found the Torino disappointing. Because the "spout" is actually a flange at the top of the kettle, you have to tip it almost upside down to get all the water out. As you do this, steam rises from the opening and makes your hand uncomfortably warm, even with the removable steam guard placed in the opening. If you grasp the handle lower to compensate for this, your palm contacts the metal heat guard at the bottom of the handle. Ouch! Also, the wide flange doesn't provide a well-focused stream of water. We'll be returning this one. Our quest for the perfect kettle goes on....

1.0 out of 5 stars Cute but not very functional, September 20, 2005
The appearance of this tea kettle is very attractive - however due to the design you must be very careful when pouring boiling water to prevent a steam burn. Also, it is virtually impossible to completely empty all of the water from the tea kettle - you have to wait until the water cools before you turn it completely upside down to extract all water before storing. I would not even attempt to remove all of the water while it was still hot.

3.0 out of 5 stars Whistle sucks, October 8, 2005
By

I bought this kettle mainly because the one I had didn't have a whistle. I really liked the looks of this one and the design, and it's easy to add water with the large opening in the top. But the whistle makes such a small amount of noise, you can't hear it at all unless you are standing next to it. If you press down hard on the lid it whistles loudly, but who wants to do that? Poor design on the whistle, but everything else is just fine. I can only give this a three...sorry....{:^(-{{{----[

1.0 out of 5 stars Waste of Money, March 17, 2006
I gave it one star because the design is very nice.
I bought this kettle to replace my kettle that did not wistle. Unfortunately, this one does wistled for two days and then stopped.
Total waste of money. Now I want to return it but I do not have the packaging.

Very happy with this product.

5.0 out of 5 stars The second time around is the best, September 22, 2006

I purchased the first tea kettle and when it arrived it didn't whistle. After searching for the best tea kettle, I couldn't get the Copco kettle out of my head and I thought oh well, if it didn't whistle that would be OK, I love the looks and feel of it. Well, it not only whistles, the top pops up when the button is pressed and it looks and feels great, I got the tangerine and the color is perfect, not too dark, but not washed out. I'm so glad I took the chance, this is the best kettle I ever had. Thanks Copco.

5.0 out of 5 stars Copco Torino 2-1/2 Quart Teakettle, January 15, 2007
My Mom had seen this in an ad and asked me to find one for her. Looked in every store in the mall. Finally got online and found it on Amazon.com. She absolutely loves it....

5.0 out of 5 stars The best teakettle ever., June 1, 2009
By
Scarlett S. (Cerritos, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This teakettle is unique. First of all its design is different in that it doesn't have a spout; rather, it has a lip. The best thing about it is this: When you press the button on the handle to release the lid to pour, you see that there's a steam guard on the inside to protect you from steam burns. Of course, it's removable for washing/filling. I got a bad steam burn from another teapot when the lid fell off. It had no steam guard. I absolutely love this one!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love it!, February 4, 2008
I absolutely adore my kettle! It doesn't sing a very melodious tea song (if at all), but it pours wonderfully, and because of its size will make enough hot water for friends. Other reviews talk about a problem with steam, I have to say I've never had any trouble. I love the position of the handle as well. It makes it easier to pour than the top-handled kettles.
