This review is from: Coping with Criticism (Paperback)
This is a timeless and invaluable book for anyone in leadership. With the usual Buckingham charm and self-deprecating humor, the author lays out the thesis of his book: All criticism is valuable, even if it is wrong and mean-spirited. Then the author backs up his thesis with charming and sometimes painfully real anecdotes that make you laugh, cry, or at the very least, identify. I bought a dozen copies for my staff. When you lead you become a target and rather than just getting ticked at everyone and shrinking into paranoia, this book helps you come to some proactive solutions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Isn't it time for a reprint of this book!!!, September 6, 2011
This review is from: Coping With Criticism (Hardcover)
My daughter and husband who are in ministry are facing some critizism from one particualr person in their church. In my memory, I thought, 'Gee, I read a great book on coping with critcism that neither passed it off a nothing or made a person feel automatically feel guilty. What was that old book???" And then I found it on my shelf. Coping With Criticism by Jamie Buckingham. I also date my books and see that I read it in 1980, 1996 and again in 1997. It is a wonderful book that makes one look for the truth in criticism (even if it is just a kernal) and avoid the mistake of tossing it all aside because the person was gruff, or mean, or just plain beligerent. It also helps one not assume guilt when it should not be accepted.
