Nosebleeds, sinusitis, migraines, eczema, even depression: these symptoms can mean your body is saying a resounding NO to a particular food. If you don't listen to it, things will get worse; what you don't know about allergies, intolerances, and irritants can hurt you. A specialist in the diagnosis and treatment of food sensitivities will help you figure out if you're one of the many sufferers--and then guide you through the confusing process of eliminating the offenders. 2.0 out of 5 stars could be helpfull, May 20, 2004

This review is from: Coping With Food Intolerances: Fourth Edition (Paperback)
This book is a helpfull overview of food intolerances, with some helpfull information on how to eat/ change ones environment/ change ones life to minimize symptoms (such as rashes, headaches, etc.)

As the mother of a young child with excema, I found the tone of the book intollerable. It reccommends that ALL pregnant and nursing mothers avoid ALL common allergens. Common allergens according to Dick Thom: wheat, dairy, eggs, soy, pork, tomatoes, potatoes, all citrus, chocolate... maybe some others that I am forgetting. To cavalierly suggest this to persons who are not currently having serious allergy problems seems irresponsible. I found it telling that there was a long discussion of what formula to use if you could not produce enough milk when breastfeeding... this is a very uncommon problem, unless you are quite undernourished or overstressed. Trying to following his dietary restrictions would lead to both.
