5.0 out of 5 stars This book was purchased for my hospital's medical library, September 16, 2003

I sat down looking at nursing books to help me clinically, as a nurse post-refresher course. With my nursing science not at the forefront of my remembrance, I found this book to be a wonderful source of information, scientific rationale and nursing implications in detail. Even the more experienced nurses could benefit from this book as people work in various areas that are very specific to pediatrics, maternal child, etc. When one decides to go back into nursing and winds up in med/surg, this book would be an excellent reminder of what we are looking for and what is to be done, in the R.N. role. After some reading in my library, I decided to make it one book in my own that will be well used. There are many books out there, but this is not only helpful but extremely user friendly.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad for a beginner, August 2, 2000

This text offers a decent overview of coexixting conditions and how they affect nursing care. Good for the beginning nurse in a hospital setting-not strictly a 'critical care" text.

This book provided more insight that ANY book thus far in my nursing education. It should be a required book and it is not even on the recommended list.
