5.0 out of 5 stars A BOOK FROM ONE WHO KNOWS
Dr. Berman's book of OUTSTANDING insights from a professional (psychiatrist - doctor) and a patient of CIDP shows clearly that he has walked the walk and because of that, he talks the talk. No one with CIDP should fail to read this book. Having lived with CIDP symptoms for 34 years before diagnosis and now going on 41 years of living with CIDP with the help of IVIg, I...

No one with CIDP should fail to read this book. Having lived with CIDP symptoms for 34 years before diagnosis and now going on 41 years of living with CIDP with the help of IVIg, I can tell you that this book is an INVALUABLE resource for anyone suffering from a chronic neuropathy or even any chronic illness. As a leader of support groups and a teacher, I plan on encouraging everyone to purhase this book and will be focusing on the book in lectures in Florida in 2009. Awesome resource. LtCol Eugene B. A most helpful informative book for those victims of PN who are struggling to understand the changes in life brought on by chronic illness. Gives good guidelines for reestablishing good mental balance, for putting your future back into your own hands, and building self-esteem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent personable book, June 3, 2011

This was a fantastic book, it was engaging to read and helpful. I felt reassured about my condition and the way I feel about it. It is a great book to give to family and friends to help their understanding of what you're going through. The only section I thought lacking was the section on dealing with pain. I understand from reading the book that the author plans to write new and updated copies and I hope he will expand this section when he does. An excellent book which I highly recommend.

I haven't completely read this book yet but what I have read is interesting and I'm learning a lot. It helps to know what's going on in my body also what my emotional responses to people should be instead of what I've been expressing. Loneliness is hard to deal with at times, this book discusses relationships-I highly recommend it.

P/N is a chronic painful condition ranging over a wide spectrum of severity. This book allows you to come to grips with that and gives encouragement to tap into. Cure is not in any book for this condition
but coping is.
