5.0 out of 5 stars Caterpillar march!!, October 12, 1999
By A Customer
YEEYEEYEEYEAAH!!! This album rocks more than anything else! I personally found it a bit difficult at first, having expected something more Kyuss-like. But now, about 10 repeats later I have to surrender, it's too damn good!! John is a very talented singer, maybe the best rock singer out there. His voice is harsh, yet emotional at times, and VERY original. There is no other like John. Deepest respect also for the rest of the band!

If you're a John Garcia fan, you can't afford to miss this one!! Excellent stuff!!

5.0 out of 5 stars you don't seem to understand the deal...., July 23, 2002
well, although it doesn't have quite the scope that kyuss had, but hell, who could touch kyuss? but this isn't a bad review, not in the least. unida is by far my favorite post-kyuss group (though i though slo burn had good potential). i never was into singers that could actually sing, but john garcia won me over. he has a great voice, great lyrics, and a pretty cool stage presence (though he's been wearing the desert storm camouflage pants for like 10 years straight now...)

this album is currently in my car cd player. the only song on it that i'm not too impressed with is dwarf it. eh, it's not bad, but i usually skip it. other than that? this is an ideal driving record. the last track is definitely one to cruise down an dark desolate road to.

so in closing, this band/album kicks my .... and they don't disappoint live, that's for dang sure! thank you mr. garcia and friends!

5.0 out of 5 stars Who the Hell said rock is DEAD? John Garcia is BACK, August 31, 1999
By A Customer
It is going to take something pretty special to beat this gem of an album for album of the year. Just like the Queens are doing, John Garcia has opted for a different angle on the Kyuss sound which is a good thing, for to try and be the second Kyuss would spoil the legend of that colossal band. Unida just rock so hard, all the way through the album up until the last one "You Wish", which is an unbelievable song. Ever since the mighty Kyuss demised in '95, I've been waiting to see what various band members would do. I think that this debut from Unida is only slightly better than the Queens debut. This, like the Queens of the stone age and Kyuss is some of the best rock music of the '90's. Which prick said rock is dead? It never went away, and records like this will ensure that it stays for good
