Product Description

The 110 copper sheet with H02 temper is unpolished, meets American Society for Testing and Materials International ASTM B370 specifications, and has a standard tolerance. The 110 copper alloy is 99.9% pure copper and has high conductivity and formability. The material has an H02 temper, meaning it has been cold worked to a 1/2 hard temper.

Copper, brass, and bronze are known as red metals because they contain copper, which has a reddish color. Copper, a term that applies to alloys containing at least 99.3% copper, offers very high thermal and electrical conductivity and provides corrosion resistance, formability, and machinability. Brass is an alloy of copper and varying levels of zinc, sometimes with additional elements. It provides greater strength and better machinability than copper or bronze. Bronze is commonly an alloy of copper and tin, but sometimes it is copper alloyed with other elements such as aluminum, phosphorus, manganese, or silicon. Tin gives bronze more corrosion resistance than brass and greater strength than copper. Copper and its alloys have temper designations, meaning the material has undergone a process to achieve certain properties of strength and hardness.

Tensile strength, used to indicate the material's overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks. Corrosion resistance describes the material's ability to prevent deterioration caused by atmosphere, moisture, or other medium. Wear resistance indicates the ability to prevent surface damage caused by contact with other surfaces. Hardness (commonly measured as indentation hardness) describes its resistance to permanent surface deformation. Formability indicates how easily the material can be permanently shaped. Machinability describes how easily it can be cut, shaped, finished, or otherwise machined, while weldability characterizes the ability to be welded.

I purchased this metal to use to make jewelry. It works perfectly. Comes with a clear plastic film on it for protection from scratches. Make sure you remember to take the film off after you cut your pieces. It is difficult to tell it is on top of the metal!

Nothing too exciting here, but perhaps Amazon changed vendors since the last review posted here. Mine was delivered in perfect condition with double layers of corrugated cardboard, and maybe 2 feet long totally protecting the corners of the 12" square sheet from shipping damage. I would like to note that this is an H02 product, not like your standard 16oz (soft) roofing copper. Half hard temper has about the same equivalent Yield strength (36,300kpsi) as your standard A1008 galv steel sheet .. for forming purposes like on a press or finger brake. If you are looking for Soft copper this is not your candidate, although it can be annealed (smaller pieces) with a torch.

Project info: Copper was chosen for thermal conductivity. Beeswax melting trough for priming/dipping Kenyan/Tanzanian hybrid beehive top-bars. Also used one of these http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008KVCPH2/ and http://www.amazon.com/Strip-Heater-12-In-120V/dp/B0080KIQ0S/ but bought from Zoro tools. The 12" square yielded approximately 4 1/2" x 15" cut diagonally with 45*'s at the corners.

It is what I requested. The only complaints I could possibly have is that the plastic sheeting on the back side did not completely cover the copper and the end where the copper was cut from the larger sheet is bent down. This is minor, though, and not really a big deal for what I am using it for.

I've tried getting these on three separate orders and I'm giving up. The packing is not sufficient to adequately protect the product, which I've received with all four corners badly bent up. The packaging isn't damaged but the product is. Each time I reordered I identified the issue, and each time they sent the same product using the same packaging and I had the same result.

sheet of copper was all scratched up and bent. I was unable to flatten the metal out so I can't use it all. didn't package it safely so it was all bent up. I should have just got a roll of real copper.

His was the perfect thickness for bookmarks, I cut out long rectangles with a dremel and etched designs in them with ferrous sulfate
